I have been seeing more and more about the spitefulness of assorted egomaniacs in various positions of power. I’m tired of it. I want a calm, peaceful, thriving world, not one bending to the whims of people who rank themselves half a step higher than God.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

From The Guardian: An article about American food and assorted other culinary items. Yes, that is my email inbox — The Guardian’s site didn’t cooperate when I tried to find the article there.

The tomb of a court official of the late 5th or early 6th dynasty in Egypt has some fine art depicting daily life of the time. Amazingly well preserved considering it’s mud brick construction.

The fudge I ordered from a company in Wisconsin arrived. Three different flavors, half-pound each. I liked all of them, but fudge very rapidly gets too sweet for me, so I split each flavor into four pieces and gave most of it to my daughter and her kids.
I have some new exercises from my physical therapist, who says we may very well have accomplished all we can by my July appointment.
Due to the car needing some repairs, I postponed my chiropractic appointment, which ended up being the day after the PT. My chiropractor had a few suggestions to add to what the PT therapist assigned. She also gave me a bit of a workout, which is only rarely the case. She has a dog that she brings to work, and has done for most of the time I’ve known her. The dog is getting old now, and was definitely feeling her age on Thursday.
I’ve been getting some amusement out of the scammers trying to tell me I will lose my account if I don’t do something involving money NOW. Netflix — never had an account; Peacock, ditto. Norton, don’t use that. iCloud — have one, don’t use it, and anything serious would come from an official email address. Yahoo — I wonder if somebody working that scam will ever actually look at my email address.
