AikoAdam
MichiganGirl and since she posted a diary earlier that didn't get as much notice as she was hoping for, she asked me to post it again for her and I make it habit to never tell her no.
I'm at work and can't stick around to reply, but please consider helping her out if you can.
Thanks, AikoAdam
Northwest Michigan to be exact. You see, here on the pinkie of the mitten we have been branded (and for a long time rightly so) as the stronghold of the Republican base. But we have many strong opportunities this election year. Our strongest is in my State House district(The Fightin' 101st!) with our candidate Dan Scripps. Dan ran against a two term incumbent in 2006 and won just over 48% of the vote in a race that many thought wasn't worth running. With his hard work, dedication to the people of our region and his strong progressive values he has built a huge support base. This election he is running for an open seat. The republicans are in a four way primary battle that is literally tearing the republican county parties apart. Now, I could write about how great he is and how his ideas are what is needed to bring a needed change to our region and the state of Michigan as a whole. But I think his sentiments are best conveyed by him. Dan has a plan to move Michigan forward.
Dan Scripps, Democratic Candidate for Michigan's 101st State House seat, held a press conference this morning in Ludington,MI calling on State and Federal legislators to act on the Democrats plan to reduce the cost of gas by investing in alternative fuels and an incentive package for production and sale.
In MI-02 we will have what hasn't happened in a very long time, a democratic congressional primary. The candidate that I and many others choose to support is Scott Killips. Scott is not a politician. He is an average citizen who knows there are problems, is fed up with the representation we have and that someone has to step up and put themselves out there to voice OUR views and OUR concerns.
