I just got a letter from the Board of Elections:

"We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools," Huckabee said on Fox News, discussing the murder spree that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, CT that morning. "Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?"
So let's see if I understand this. Huckabee believes that God is so weak that "we" can "remove" Him. (I'll just gloss over that disingenuous "we" since Huckabee clearly doesn't really include himself in the class of God-removers.)
And if the children in these God-removed schools fail to pray enough - even if it's because of the sinister secular "we" - then God will send an assassin to shoot them. The same God who can't get into school without a locksmith has gunmen at his beck and call.
Did I miss the point?
I do wish Orange Satan would let me imbed the image. Alas. More below.
I met with my sales manager today, and we spent some time talking. I sell Medicare Advantage insurance - among several other jobs - and I asked him, "what impact will Obamacare have on Medicare Advantage?"
Well that would explain everything:
People who've e-mailed Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan over the past year about Occupy Oakland probably didn't get much of a response.
That's because he used a spam filter to dismiss messages sent to him with "Occupy Oakland" in the subject line, according to a federal court filing Monday. Same goes for the phrases "stop the excessive police force," "respect the press pass" or "police brutality." Instead of landing in his in-box, those messages went straight into his junk mail folder, which he apparently never looked at.
Because of those filters, Jordan missed e-mails from other city officials and a federal court monitor, who oversees the department's compliance with court-ordered reforms stemming from a police abuse scandal.

Boy, they don't like Sherrod Brown. Apparently he is personally responsible for the entire national debt. And the solution?
Call Sherrod Brown at (614) 469-2083. Tell him to help the economy by cutting government spending and reducing taxes, and urge him to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
The mailer has pictures of adorable children on it, because cutting funds for schools is the way to help children. And austerity is the way to help the economy. And cutting taxes will reduce the deficit.
They really think we're idiots, don't they?
Starting a nonprofit organization from scratch isn't easy. It's even not-easier when you have to change horses in the middle of the race.
A few months ago, I finally received IRS approval for my 501(c)3 status which, in itself, would make for a long (and educational) diary. Since then I've been networking like crazy, looking for supporters who can help make this thing fly.
Now, for family reasons, I find I need to pull up stakes and move to Cincinnati. Last week I drove out there to make some connections and decide if this is going to work - or if I should give up and get an old-fashioned job.
