Hello all,

It's been an interesting last few months in music.  We have the first openly gay country singer singing a song about a gay on straight crush and now we have a country band crossing with a rap artist. I will post the links below the orange squiggle of serendipity...

Something that has been on my mind for awhile, well actually since he first ran was just who approached Obama and offered to back him to run the first time around.

Along with that question comes : just how much of the crap he has been pulling is because he believes in it vs he owes people a lot.

Before you cry "CONSPIRACY THEORY" let's think about this ok?

I'll be honest, I really haven't followed the Snowden story other than here. Mainly because this is the only place I really look for news.

However I am finding something interesting with Snowden and Manning.

I love the refrain 'THERE ARE LAWS, HE BROKE THEM SO SCREW HIM" echoing over and over interesting.

Here's why...

Yes, those two seem like odd to mix together but I have had a lot of things running through my brain and I figured I would write them out here. Throw the pasta at the wall and see what sticks I guess.

I was looking at Ted talks and found this one. This Masai boy - Richard Turere wanted to keep lions from killing his family's cows. He rigged up flashing lights that flash around the compound and it works. How is it US Ranchers cannot learn something from him and invent something useful instead of killing wolves? In the last week or two we've seen diary after diary here about how the climate is pretty much screwed. Wearing shorts in the midwest, it's basically Spring here in AZ, no rain for much of the midwest where, you know, the food grows, etc etc etc.

It's too late to stop it folks, now we need to prepare for the "new normal" and try to mitigate what damage will incur.

Some ideas below the squiggle ...

I am thrilled that workers here are finally standing up for their rights and demanding respect, trust me.

What I am not so thrilled about is how people are overlooking some primary drivers that link all these issues.

Consumers drive business practices. Companies do what makes them money and it seems that society likes to keep it's ignorance in place regarding that when it comes to their buying decisions.

(This is a bit of a rant and discussion about cultural identity)

Ok all I have read many diaries here re: the Republican meltdown and confusion following the election. I think you all are being waaaayyy too intellectual and liberal-ish here.

Let's step out of adulthood and go back in time.

Hello all,

Hurricane Sandy should be a wake up call for many things, infrastructure changes, climate change, how completely destroying salt marshes and other coastal ecosystems that could have helped prevent the storm surge from reaching as far as it did may have been a bad idea etc etc. However I think one thing that individual homeowners can learn from this is to add something else to their Storm Survival Kit. Solar Generators.
