The Day Has Come: OpKKK

by Horace Boothroyd III

Reposted from Anonymous Dkos by Horace Boothroyd III

It is obvious to all by now, excepting the deliriously obtuse, that our Federal Government has decided that doing things like bringing out the National Guard so children can go to school without being injured for their skin color and shutting down an economic system based on kidnapping are no longer ways to promote the general welfare.

I have always been dismayed that a blatant terrorist organization like the KKK could be allowed to flourish. But as I got older and learned not only more about the racism hidden beneath the surface, but the level of corruption it has attained. So I now know there is no way the enforcement arm of the DOJ will ever go after the KKK, they can't.

But again here is Anonymous to the rescue:

I get a big laugh at the convoluted efforts Republican lies take. Exemplar of a complete inability to take responsibility for their own actions.

The offensive image, which can be seen at the link below, is just a juvenile joke about morning wood.

In followup tweets, Parkinson said he was walking around outside when he discovered the nefarious photo on his account.

"I'm out walking doors...I have no idea where those tweets are originating from," he said. "[The account] was somehow compromised.I'm out walking doors and nowhere near my computer!"

Then how did you see the photo on your account? Twitter works on phones too.

The Mayor of Peoria, Illinois found out there was a satire Twitter account regarding him. So he did what any tinpot despot would do, had the person that set up the account arrested.

Apparently this Mayor has no knowledge of satire in our political history. As well as several judges, police officers and their chief, and twitter and comcast.

This sort of political abuse of power was once incomprehensible.

The warrant, filed in Peoria County Circuit Court, details a two- to three-week process whereby Peoria police tracked down the location of the Internet address used for the account as well as the identity of the person who paid for the Web access. Two judges signed off on warrants to get information from Twitter and Comcast. Another judge approved a Tuesday afternoon raid of 1220 N. University St., which led to one arrest for marijuana possession but no charges related to the Twitter account or any of the posts.Jacob Elliott, 36, of the University Street address, was held on $3,000 bond for marijuana possession. Elliott, who has no criminal record, was released from Peoria County Jail on Thursday. His next court date is May 15 for a preliminary hearing.

#BoehnerShutdown

by UniteBlue

Reposted from UniteBlue by Horace Boothroyd III

Over 800,000 federal employees are out of work without pay thanks to job-destroyer John Boehner. His failed leadership shines again, while we suffer.

Making children go hungry in order to deny millions of other children healthcare is unacceptable. Every hour the government is shut down costs us taxpayers $12,500,000.

Blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the "leader" of the House. It's time for Boehner to stop following the Tea Party. Only Speaker Boehner can end the shutdown and all that goes with it.

Join on Twitter today using #BoehnerShutdown to place the blame where it belongs and pressure the Speaker to allow the House a vote on a clean continuing resolution.

Short diary:

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is speaking at length on the Senate floor insisting that the Senate vote to defund the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare.

He has been reading tweets that support his cause from the floor.

It's time to take over that hashtag: #MakeDCListen

So get to it!

#kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too! Welcome to diary number 15 in our periodic series.

Our goal is to amplify Kossack voices by making it very easy to follow each other on Twitter, sharing and promoting the best of Daily Kos and news from everywhere with each other and, using hashtag cross pollination, with other parts of the progressive twitterverse. Just add #kt2 (and/or #dkos -- see below) to your tweets. Combine our hashtag with the tags for your favorite progressive groups, like #uniteblue, #p2 and #ConnectTheLeft. Then, easily find tweets by your fellow Kossacks on Twitter by searching for tweets with #kt2 or #dkos. Easy!

If you're not yet on Twitter and have no idea what it means to follow someone or be followed on Twitter, or what hashtags are, but would like to add a powerful and popular tool to your blogging experience, then simply go to twitter.com and sign up as a new user. You'll need to pick a Twitter name, which can be (but certainly does not have to be) the same as your DKos name. Twitter provides extensive tutorials and online help at the Twitter Help Center.

If you're not yet following everyone here, it's really easy to follow any of us on The List -- just click on the follow @... link of anyone you'd like to follow.

Or, if you have a fast internet connection, you may also click here for the permanent button list diary, where, if you're logged into your Twitter account using the same browser, you can immediately see who you are already following as their buttons will be grayed out, and you can go down the list and follow others right from the diary by clicking their buttons.

Not yet on The List below? Simply leave a comment IN THIS DIARY, with your Twitter name preceded by @ in the header, and you will be added to the top of the New Additions list in the diary, right below the orange croissant. That makes it easy for anyone to return to the diary and click on newly added people. You'll also be added to the cumulative alphabetical listings (front pagers are shown separately) that appear right below the New Additions, and you'll be added to the permanent button list diary, so you won't need to repost your Twitter handle in subsequent diaries.

We are continuing to add new people to this list even if they haven't found these diaries. If a Kossack has their Twitter handle listed in their DKos profile or in a diary or comments, we take that as meaning that they'd be happy to have their name on this list, and we've been adding them as we find them. This list continues to grow in between the periodic diaries. We are including all new people in the New Additions section at the top of the list, even if the person didn't leave a comment in the diary here and the addition was made later. You'll now find over 220 Twitter names below.

If you'd like to join our #kt2 group, or if you come across a Kossack with a Twitter name in their DKos profile or a Twitter button in their signature, who isn't on this list -- please drop us a message.

These diaries were formerly published weekly. But after an initially enthusiastic response, the comments seemed to dwindle a bit, so it seems more appropriate to now publish these monthly. It's more likely that there will a larger number of new tweeting Kossacks in a month.

Please also check out the other active Twitter group here: DKos TWEETers, run by Angie in WA State, which provides tons of useful info about using and getting the most out of Twitter, and the very latest hot, trending topics and other fun stuff.

We'd also recommend the extensive Fellow Kossacks Twitter List compiled by RLMiller. Please take advantage of that list, too.

In the last diary a month ago, there was some discussion in the diary and the comments, of the use of the hashtag #dkos versus #kt2. While a number of you seemed to prefer #dkos largely because it's a more easily recognized identifier, review of online tweets shows a somewhat larger number of people using #kt2. Rather than trying to change at this point, it seems most logical to suggest that people continue using whichever they prefer, or both (character limit permitting). Feel free to continue the discussion if you'd like.

So, don't forget to add #kt2 and/or #dkos to your tweets.

On August 14, the Rio Arriba Community Health Council will hold All Things Medicaid, our first ever Twitter Town Hall. The hashtag for the event is #HealthierNM.  Some of my readers know that I went to Netroots Nation this year to learn how to put together a Twitter Town Hall to help my community, which is tucked away in the Rocky Mountains, communicate without the mediation of outside press. Momsrising members like Elisa Batista (@elisabatista) and Dr. Kim Ellis (@drgoddess) showed me the ropes as per the video link below.

#republicanbumrush

by xxdr zombiexx

Reposted from DFH Local No 420 by Horace Boothroyd III

I have 'created" a twitter 'hashtag' that I would hope people might pick up or use during the coming days and months as the GOP war on Women and Rights, and Jobs, and everything else under the sun really gears up.

The tag is "#republicanbumrush" because I think the GOP has entered a phase in which they have realized they can literally "bumrush" the political process in their states.

Various definitions of Bum Rush

To run full speed into somebody and body slam them into a brick wall, chain link fence, or similar immovable object.

The act of attacking someone or something (usually by a group)with the reckless abandon and fervor of one who has nothing to loose.

Like you, I've pretty much known that our online lives have been vacuumed into trillions of rubber-made storage bins (metaphorically speaking).  And, like you, I chose to take a higher road and do my best to learn, understand, and share with others EVEN IF it rang some bell somewhere.

That said, amidst the gloom and doom feelings of having NO privacy and facing a potential future leader reminiscent of the murderous, Dystopian Leader that V for Vendetta spent a lifetime taking down, I found myself chuckling.

A nervous chuckle to say the very least, but something about this dark chapter in our already greying world, tickled my funny bone.

So, when I noticed the #TrollTheNSA hash tag on Twitter, I dropped in for a look see.

There are a lot of very funny people out there.

The funniest thing I have found, to date, is a Troll the NSA poetry contest linked here

The “Online Terrorist Keywords” Poetry Contest!

But darn, the contest is now closed. Here's the rules anyway.  Maybe we can have a Daily Kos Troll the NSA Poetry Contest, too.  It's not like most of us aren't already on some list(s) somewhere already.

Here is what the webhost wrote about the contest:

After reading Revealed: Hundreds of words to avoid using online if you don’t want the government spying on you, I had a great idea of how to illustrate the ridiculousness of our government in using simple “words” as justification for spying on the American people (and us sovereigns too).  So I’m officially launching the “Online Terrorist Keywords” Poetry Contest!

Here’s how it works:  Starting today, and ending 2 weeks from the posting of this announcement (that would be Tue. June 12th, at 9pm – EST) I’m asking all who are interested to write up a poem using a minimum of 50 words from the “government keywords” list (see photos below).  Post your poem in the comments section of this post.  Be sure to include a title!  Once the contest is closed, I’ll repost all the entries and have open voting for 5 days.  At the end of the voting, which ever “Terrorist Poem” is rated the highest will be used in an 11″ x 17″ poster that I will design, print, and send to the winner.

Some of the words supposedly intriguing to NSA are pork, cloud, and Mexico, btw.

So for fun

One of my families favorite recipes is vegetables in a cloud.  I guess we could add pork and invite our Mexican neighbors.

BAM!  In swoops the NSA bots to see what I mean by that, who did I say it to, is there a cloud pork Mexico pattern. What does it mean?

Where was I?

Oh yeah.  Poetry NSA Humor

You can go to the website linked above to find the list of words that will AROUSE the NSA as well as read some of the poetry entries.
