I have not seen this discussed here. Earlier in the week, a video was released showing a Marana, AZ Policeman accelerating his car and slamming into a man carrying a rifle. This man had been on a crime spree, and had stolen the rifle from a nearby Wal-Mart. He also was a suspect in other crimes in Tucson, The suspect had aimed the gun at his own head several times, and once at the police car.
The video shows a policeman in another car following the man and attempting to get him to drop the gun, when the second car suddenly appears and runs the man over.
So what's up with this? Why no diaries on Rahm DINO who had to run in a runoff because he couldn't get enough votes to win outright.
Then Rahm runs against a progressive and slanders him as an unqualified (Mexican/) saying Garcia can't steal pensions correctly,.
Then RAHM WINS AGAIN in a major American City.
Tell me again where and how progressives influence the party?
A very important case, Arizona State Legislature v. Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission is being argued at the SCOTUS on Monday.
The high court will hear a case Monday that could give partisan state legislatures sole authority to draw congressional districts, a task voters in several states have transferred to independent commissions.
The question/s to be answered are:
Issue: (1) Whether the Elections Clause of the United States Constitution and 2 U. S. C. § 2a(c) permit Arizona’s use of a commission to adopt congressional districts; and (2) whether the Arizona Legislature has standing to bring this suit.
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, but I am a resident of Arizona. I voted in 2000 for Proposition 106, and I have followed this case since its inception. Jump below the squiggle to read more.
Well, today is my 10th anniversary here at Daily Kos. It's actually a bit longer, because I lurked for a few months before signing up, but this is the official date of joining. My distaste for a second George W Bush presidential term was the catalyst for joining.
I had had enough, but how terrific!
I found you.
Short diary since economics is not my forte. Local AZ business, Petsmart, the 36th largest employer in Arizona, was sold to a London based Partnership, BC Partners "in what could be the largest private-equity deal of the year."
With the sale, another [AZ] homegrown public company will be controlled out of state....
Arizona had six of the nation's largest publicly traded companies as tallied by the Fortune 500 in 2013. With PetSmart going private and US Airways merged with Fort Worth-based American Airlines, the state now has four.
Republican lawmakers can't keep their feet out of their mouths. This week, Representative Paul Gosar, R-AZ called Native Americans, "wards of the Federal Government," during a round table discussion on mining, land and forest issues.
At the meeting, the contentious topic of the land trade that will allow the country's largest copper mine to be built on land considered sacred by San Carlos Apaches was discussed. Gosar showed no grace or knowledge of history, when he used these words directly to an Apache representative, Phil Stago, at the discussion. Gosar especially showed his lack of historical knowledge, as American Indians became citizens in 1924 with the Indian Citizenship Act.
Stago summed it up.
"He kind of revealed the truth — the true deep feeling of the federal government: 'Tribes, you can call yourselves sovereign nations, but when it comes down to the final test, you're not really sovereign because we still have plenary authority over you,'"
I'm on Facebook. Some hate it. I like it. If you give a "like" to a site or person, they enter your news feed. Which brings me to this:
Why are C-Span News feed comments dominated by conservatives with RW comments? The top comments are always from Conservatives, who seem to lay in wait for a C-Span post and immediately post some trash about the president. Here's an example. This morning C-Span posted this:
TONIGHT: President Obama Immigration Executive Action Announcement
And here are the top comments:

A Tucson Pastor, Michael Petzer, who returned from Zambia in early September, was awakened by two Tucson police officers pounding on his door at 2 AM. They wanted to know if he had Ebola.
It turns out that a woman from his congregation went to the hospital with self-described "possible Ebola symptoms" and she shared with doctors that her Pastor had been to Africa.
The hospital called the cops, and TPD sent out two officers to check it out.
I thought I should diary this. I attended a Doug Ducey et al "Victory" Rally today in the upper Flowing Wells area of Tucson. He had with him Martha McSally who is running for Ron Barber's seat in CD2, Doug Little for Corporation Commission, the almost invisible, Diane Douglas running for Supt of Public Instruction, Mark Brnovich, Attorney General, and Michelle Reagan, running for Secretary of State.
When I arrived there were about 40 people, about 15 of whom were with the campaign. Finally the republicans emerged from their bus to this crowd.
Former representative Jim Kolbe introduced the team.
Add this to the $50 million dollars that Arpaio has already cost Arizonans.
A federal judge on Thursday awarded more than $4.4 million to attorneys who won a long-running racial profiling case against the operations of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, although that pared the sum plaintiffs' lawyers had sought by about a third.
Pat Roberts is speaking in favor of Citizens United. The Founders didn't put it in the Constitution so this must be bad. Money is speech. I'm stunned.
Good Morning, Baja Amigos.
I want to make sure you read this great post at Blog For Arizona, written by Pamela Powers Hannley
