With 20% of the vote counted, 58% of voters in Fremont, Nebraska are supporting the racist law designed to target Hispanics for profiling.
Fremont is 95% white and has a Hispanic population of 4%--most of who are legal citizens...yet they feel compelled go on a mission to persecute a America's current favorite minority to hate.
Jobs? They have a very low unemployment rate-much lower than the average so it's not like they are reeling from lack of jobs and layoffs
Illegal workers? Most are hired by the Hormel meat packing plant which is outside the city so they would not be affected by the new law.
The city has prepared plans to cut services and raise taxes to pay for the legal fees when the lawsuits begin. The Nebraska chapter of the ACLU has already announced it will file a lawsuit.
Similar laws were passed in Farmers Branch, TX and in a small town in PA and both were struck down as unconstitutional after very costly legal battles.
