From Houston Texas:
This is weird.  My deceased mother just received a package from a group called Stop The Magnet.   It contains two petitions (let me explain that the City of Houston has the right of referendum in its' charter):  (1) calling for City Council to pass laws similar to laws passed in Arizona that would give Houston cops the authority to identify & detain 'illegals'; (2) it would require all contractors with the City to not employ undocumented immigrants, to use E-Verify to verify their employees status, & make all contracts void if an immigrant is found to be employed.  I'm dumbfounded.  The petitions if passed into law, would cause problems with law enforcement, & would probably cause most road & building construction by the City to screech to a halt.  I hope people in the Republican areas like Spring Branch realize this is a bad idea.  Just who are these people & who is paying for these petitions?
