Hmmm, write a Diary?

by Grandson named me Papa

Lately been gettin emails from the kind folks behind DK, urging me to fire up the old diary; guess it's been awhile (almost a year). For one thing, I find so much really outstanding writing here and know I can't hold a candle to ya. Seem better equipped to add comments on Twitter; short and sweet, or snarky. A plug: @PapaESoCo. For another thing, maybe am too lazy to sit down and think about it.
There are some things that get the old juices flowing; like the unbelievable 19 (so far) RWNJ's currently vying to be in the drivers seat of the Official 2016 GOP Clownmobile; ya know the one; kinda like the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile only full of dick heads instead of weiners. Don't know about you, but I thought the Clowns aboard the 2012 version were beyond the pale, and impossible to replicate or surpass. Imagine my surprise at being so wrong. The only folks who could make it even more delightful would be for "Crazy Sarah", or, "Old Googly Eyes Michele" to get on board; Late night comedians would be orgasmic.

 Well, young Fellow, (4+ / 0-)
First off; I'm not a "Boomer", I'm a "War Baby".
Secondly; don't know your political persuasion, but, your writing style and tone suggests a lot of Right wing bloggers I have read. You know, lack of empathy, insulting tone.
I'll share a story of a man who passed away a few years ago, well into his 90's. He never had a bad word, or criticism of another human being. If he heard someone speaking like that he would gently tell them his simple philosophy: "Unless you have walked in their shoes, you know absolutely nothing about them."

Okay on the subject of things to get upset about, this would rate (scale of 1 to 10) a zero; there is a lot more stuff to get the vapors over. However, it does chap my hide to be compared to Wingnuts in Tri-cornered hats with dangling teabags; simply because I happen to be almost 73, am a Caucasian, and sometimes angry and/or outraged. I am a Democrat, and lean Liberal on most issues. When it comes to our People in Uniform and Veterans; they have my wholehearted support.
There are things that make me mad; probably the same stuff that bothers you. Follow below the squiggly thing for more.

So, I usually do not endorse Political candidates, because who the hell would listen to me anyway? But, this young Democrat is running against Jim Inhof, in Oklahoma. Some of his ideas are a bit conservative for my taste, however, I figure he gets a little slack because he is running for office in OK. Besides, would not any Democrat be an improvement over Mr. Climate Change Denier? So, just thought I would throw this out there to the hungry wolves at Daily Kos. His name is Matt Silverstein and is now the Democratic nominee for US Senate in OK. Twitter: @MattForOK. Anyway, PapaESoCo sayz check him out.

Hi, I need some help dealing with (gasp) smart Right Wingnuts who reply to my posts. Am a novice at blogging, memory is not the best. Just wrote a comment to a Charles Krauthamer BS editorial comment posted in my local Paper. I do not have the skills, or knowledge of many who post on DK, and would appreciate help in responding to this Wing nut. Am adding link to article and comments; I post as PapaESoCo.
Thanks, appreciate any help you folks can offer.brhttp://www.pressdemocrat.com/...

Oh, my God,

by Grandson named me Papa

it just sunk in; we won't have Mitt Romney to "kick around any more". For you younger readers, the Part in quotes is from a famous comment by "Tricky Dick" Nixon regarding the Press of the time. Just popped into my head and brought a smile. Of course, "Tricky Dick" did make a comeback; let us hope the Mittster is done for good. Way to go Kos folks. Enjoy the afterglow.

From defending a group of poor, put-upon miners from wealthy,Greedy, Rapacious mine owners; to standing up for the Oligarchy.
Who would have thought that the former Mayor of Carmel would turn out to be a Racist, Misogynistic, Immigrant hating, Oppressor of the Elderly, the very young, the Poor, and the much beleaguered middle class? But, there he will be today standing beside those who would Buy our Country. For Shame.
"Preacher, I love you Preacher".

If you don't know the quote, look it up.
Another quote "If you live long enough, you'll see everything". I am almost 70, and I just realized that I have not yet seen everything. What I have seen so far disgusts me. I think I get what the conservatives are trying to accomplish: a stupid, dumb ed down electorate. "Elitist, college educated, Liberals". What was that recent quote from Santorum about Obama wanting everyone to go to college? The Oligarchy does not want an educated citizenry. Period! When people are educated they start to look at their world in a different way; they start to apply reason, objectivity, rationality, to the reality that is right in front of them. The Buddha said "the truth is always right in front of you, you only need to see it" (a paraphrase; don't remember the exact words). Uneducated folks are easily manipulated, hence, "treat them like mushrooms; feed them bullshit and keep them in the dark".
Went to college in my 30's, came from a blue collar, working class environment. Going to College was the best thing that ever happened to me: it expanded my world, my view of what was going on. If you are looking for wisdom, don't look here, look into your own heart. Look without prejudice, bias, preconceived ideas: look as a child looks. A child looks at the reality to learn, to see it for what it is , to learn how to survive.
Hey, just the ramblings of some "old fart", nothing to learn here just keep moving along; step away from  your consciousness, pay no attention to what your own eyes, ears, and intellect are telling you.
Just more random neuron misfiring s from a fried out brain

Hey Mittster'
I hear you like to sing.
Well, here is a suggestion for you to que up:
Van Morrison," No Guru, No Method, No teacher": "Ivory Tower".
It starts like this:
"When you come down
from your Ivory Tower
You will see how it must really
must be
To be like me to see like me
To feel like me
Take a look at me I'm a poor mans son
I never did no harm to no one
You've got money in the
bank
And  I don't have none
When you come down
etc,etc...
Bridge, you can see through
Your rose colored glasses
In a world that seems
like glamour to you
You've got opinions and
judgements about
all kinds of things
That you don't know anything about
Don't you know the
price that I have to pay
just to do everything that I have to do
Do you think that there's
nothing to it
You should try it sometime
When you come down
etc etc...."
With all due respect and personal homage to "Van the man"

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal". An old Irish saying
My Mom passed away a year ago this past January(she lived to be 90). I found this Irish saying on the internet, searching for something to say at her funeral. Then, I added my own words as to what I perceived as the essence of her: love.
This is what I said;
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory that no one can steal.
All of my life I have known that my Mother loves me.
Her fervent desire was to give her children that which she herself was denied as a child; the unconditional love of a mother for her children.
This was her gift to her sons, and by extension, to her daughters(more than once she told me "my Daughter in Laws are not my Daughter in Laws; they are my Daughters").
Then there were Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; for Mom, it was just more children needing love.
Thanks, Mom
