Happy New Years! Here’s hoping 2021 electorally starts off with some good news!
Early in person voting is officially over. We now have the next 5 days for mail ballots to arrive before polls close, and election day itself. Since mail ballots favor dems pretty heavily, we should see the democratic early vote advantage grow through these 5 days.
Mail Ballot Requests
1. 1,373,691 ballots have been requested compared to 1,782,580 for the General
2. Percentage wise, that means the runoff is at 77.06% of the requests compared to the General. Increase of .18% from the last posting
3. Of the 1,373,691 ballot requests, 868,767 (2K increase) are from Biden counties, and 504,924 (1.5K increase) are from Trump counties.
4. In the general, out of the 1,782,580 requests, 1,117,802 came from Biden counties and 664,778 came from trump counties.
5. That means, Biden counties are currently requesting 77.72% (.16% increase from the last posting) of the ballots when compared to the 2020 general and Trump counties are requesting 75.95% (.2% increase from the last posting).
6. Overall, for the runoff, Biden counties have requested 63.24% (.02% decrease from the last posting) of all mail ballots and Trump counties have requested 36.76% (.02% increase from the last posting). In the General, this % was 62.71% for Biden counties and 37.29% for Trump counties.
7. Raw numbers wise; Democratic counties currently have a 363,843 application edge (increase of 500 votes from the last posting) on GOP counties out of 1,365,831 ballot requests. In the General, Democratic counties had a 453,024 edge on GOP counties out of 1,782,580 ballot requests.
Mail ballot Returns:
1. 928,069 ballots have been returned compared to 1,320,154 for the General
2. Percentage wise, that means the runoff is at 70.3% (2.4% increase from the last posting) of the returns compared to the General.
3. Of the 928,069 ballot returns, 567,665 are from Biden counties (18K increase since the last posting), and 360,404 are from Trump counties (14K increase since the last posting).
4. In the general, out of the 1,320,154 returns, 823,960 came from Biden counties and 496,194 came from trump counties.
5. That means, Biden counties are currently returning 68.89% of the ballots (2.1% increase since the last posting) when compared to the 2020 general and Trump counties are returning 72.63% (2.8% increase since the last posting)
6. Overall, for the runoff, Biden counties have returned 61.17% of all mail ballots (.18% decrease since the last posting) and Trump counties have returned 38.83% (.18% increase since the last posting). In the General, this % was 62.41% for Biden counties and 37.59% for Trump counties.
7. Raw numbers wise; Democratic counties currently have a 207,261 mail return edge (4K increase since the last posting) on GOP counties out of 928,069 ballot returns. In the General, Democratic counties had a 327,766 edge on GOP counties out of 1,320,514 ballot returns.
If you use the margins Biden got in the general, Dems have a 271K vote lead on mail ballot returns (increase of 8K).
There’s between 334-437K ballots left to return. The range is due to ballots potentially being returned at polling places. If these ballots were all returned, it would net between 111K to 153K democratic votes.
In Person Early Votes
1. 2,072,948 votes have been tabulated compared to 2,694,763 for the General
2. Percentage wise, that means the runoff finishes at 76.93% of the votes (increase of 5.8% from yesterday) compared to the General.
3. Of the 2,072,948 votes, 1,117,448 are from Biden counties (increase of 66K from yesterday), and 955,500 are from Trump counties (increase of 90K from yesterday). Note, the largest Democratic county, Fulton, was closed yesterday. Along with Bibb county. If both were open, Biden counties probably would have won the day again.
4. In the general, out of the 2,694,763 votes, 1,373,128 came from Biden counties and 1,321,635 came from trump counties.
5. That means, Biden counties finish at 80.99% of votes (increase of 4.8% from yesterday) when compared to the 2020 general and Trump counties finish at 72.66% of votes (increase of 6.8% from yesterday).
6. Overall, for the runoff, Biden counties finish at 53.91% of all early in person votes (decrease of .94% from yesterday) and Trump counties finish at 46.09% of all early in person votes (increase of .94% from yesterday). In the General, this % was 50.96% for Biden counties and 49.04% for Trump counties.
7. Raw numbers wise; Democratic counties finish with a 161,948 vote edge (24K decrease from yesterday) on GOP counties out of 2,072,948 early in person votes. In the General, Democratic counties had a 51,493 edge on GOP counties out of 2,694,763 ballot returns.
If you use the margins Biden got in the general, Republicans have a 62,879 vote lead for in person early votes (increase of 22K votes)
