Last Week on Fox News there was a segment featuring two Girl Scouts who had initiated an ambitious campaign to save endangered orangutans. Madison Vorva and Rhiannon Tomtishen were researching the project when they discovered that the palm oil used to make the famous Girl Scout Cookies was a major factor in the depletion of the rainforest that is the orangutan's habitat. Thus began their effort to get the Girl Scouts to find an alternative to the palm oil in the cookies.

[Below are excerpts from Glenn Beck's web site for his Jerusalem Junket. Click here for the posting on News Corpse with a link to a special web site with details of the trip.]

Join Glenn In Jerusalem
Coming this August, Glenn Beck is inviting you to join him on a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to the holiest of lands - ISRAEL.

If you listen to Glenn on the radio, or watch him on TV, you already know that he is a stalwart supporter of the people and nation of Israel, and their role in the fate of mankind. He is an almost solitary voice advocating for a stronger partnership with the United States and in opposition to any proposal that would recognize the sovereignty of the Palestinian heathens occupying Israel's West Bank and Gaza Strip.

How Hollywood Drove Andrew Breitbart To The Mad Hater's Tea Party

Andrew BreitbartAndrew Breitbart just released his new book, "Righteous Indignation," that opens a window into his innermost impulses and ambitions. It reveals the complex circuitry of his character that succeeds in being both self-loathing and Narcissistic. Breitbart takes us on his journey from unrequited Hollywood wannabe to Tea Party overlord and along the way establishes that his book might better have been titled "Noxious Irritation." If anything, his indignation is aimed at a community that he desperately wanted to be a part of, but which wanted nothing to do with him.

As his tenure at Fox News winds to close, Glenn Beck's Messianic delusions are escalating beyond imagination.

Beck has long seen himself as the Lord's messenger. After visiting the Vatican last year he returned with a story of a mysterious man who told him that "we know who you are. What you're doing is wildly important." He later told his radio congregation that "God is giving a plan, I think, to me that is not really a plan." Whatever that means.

Today Beck revealed another encounter with the Almighty:

Nevada Senator John Ensign resigned from the Senate last week, but his troubles may not end there. The New York Times is reporting that the results of a Senate Ethics Committee investigation may leave Ensign liable for charges of obstructing an FEC investigation, violating federal lobbying bans, and making unlawful payments to the husband of his congressional aide with whom he was having an affair - among other things.

However, any investigation of this matter needs to include possible interference on the part of Fox News and Glenn Beck-wannabe, Megyn Kelly.

A new proposal has been introduced in the South Dakota state legislature that would upend the Constitutionally protected right to bear arms. This complex and insidious scheme, if enacted, would virtually eliminate access to guns by law abiding citizens. Here are the hoops that the legislation would require honest South Dakotans to jump through:

Glenn Beck has a long history of denigrating young Americans. He has called them "useful idiots." He has disparaged them as gullible waifs subject to indoctrination. When Al Gore told a young audience that they know more about some things than their parents, Beck ridiculed the notion as an assault on parenthood.

The Wall Street Journal has gone into competition with WikiLeaks. They just launched the web site Safehouse where they are soliciting secrets that would ostensibly expose fraud and abuse. The site asks visitors to send in "newsworthy contracts, correspondence, emails, financial records or databases from companies, government agencies or non-profits."

The interesting thing about this is that it puts the Wall Street Journal in the position of emulating an avowedly anarchist enterprise. But it put users in an even worse position.

Andrew BreitbartJon Lovitz used to have a character on Saturday Night live known a the "pathological liar." He would simply make up things to impress his associates and, as he settled on the perfect deceit, would exclaim, "Yeah, that's the ticket."

Andrew Breitbart has taken this notion to new levels. His capacity for dishonesty is boundless and entirely devoid of shame. The latest episode in his recurring series of video lie-fests takes place at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. The video posted at his BigGovernment blog shows a professor and a guest lecturer engaged in a discussion that includes statements that imply they are advocating violence on behalf of labor interests. "Yeah, that's the ticket." The only problem with this expose is that, like just about everything else Breitbart does, it isn't true.

Fox News' ratings are beginning to reflect the general disenchantment that America is experiencing with the lunatic fringe as represented by Republicans and Tea Partyers (but I repeat myself). In the latest Nielsen reporting for April 2011, the most prominent Fox programs have precipitously declined:

It's time for the folks at Britannica to replace whatever picture they've been using to illustrate "poetic justice" and insert Rachel Maddow's picture in its place.

Last Friday, Fox News broadcast a special episode of the Sean Hannity program that promised to get "Behind the Bias," of what he called the liberal, Obama-mania media. What was truly special about the show is that it came in second place to Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC. Maddow beat Hannity in the key advertising demographic of 25-54 year olds. How fitting for Hannity to lose to a liberal on the night he thought he would be exposing them.

The film version of Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand's soporific paean to malevolent ego-centrism, has finally been released to the throngs of slobbering Tea Baggers desperate for some cinematic validation. Sadly for these pathetic flim(flam) buffs, this flick hardly fills the void in their lost souls.
