Senator Amy Klobuchar told Chuck Todd that America surpasses Saudi Arabia as the Number 1 oil producer in the world and he ignored her.
AMY KLOBUCHAR: Bigger issue, we're now the number-one producer of oil in the world. We've surpassed Saudi Arabia.

Senator Amy Klobuchar January 4, 2014 interview

Ok, United States surpassing Saudi Arabia in oil production is huge news.  Since the GOP are trying to pass Keystone XL Legislation under the guise of 'making America energy independent' American voters really do deserve to know and understand that the USA has surpassed Saudi Arabia in oil production.

But, because Chuck Todd is stupid, Todd's response directly after Senator Kloburchar said that was to move on to an entirely different topic.

CHUCK TODD: Well, I'm going to go to health care ...
To be clear, I do not watch Chuck Todd's Sunday morning Buffoon Hour.  However, Senator Klobuchar's announcement was so big that Tampa Bay Fact Checker independently fact checked it - without anyone even asking to - and that is where I picked up on it.

From Factchecker

On NBC’s Meet the Press on Jan. 4, 2015, Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said the new Republican Congress’ first priority in 2015 will be to pass a bill approving construction of the oil pipeline, which would stretch from Canada to Steele City, Neb., where it would connect with an existing pipeline that goes to the coast of Texas.

Klobuchar responded by saying the project "has merit" but that the decision to build the pipeline should rest with President Barack Obama, not Congress. She said the debate has become a "symbolic" one that ignores America’s healthy energy market.

"We're now the no. 1 producer of oil in the world," she said. "We've surpassed Saudi Arabia."

We decided to check out the data and see if in fact the United States is the world’s top oil producer. As it turns out, the United States passed over Saudi Arabia about two years ago.

Fact checker then provided this graph showing the US surpassed Saudi Arabia in oil production two years ago
Factchecker's ruling
Our ruling
Klobuchar said the United States is "now the No. 1 producer of oil in the world."

The latest global oil production statistics back up Klobuchar’s claim. The United States has been the world’s largest oil producer since late 2012. We rate her statement True.

So, obviously being the world's number 1 oil producer shoots holes through the GOP mantra "we need Keystone XL so America can be energy independent" and that is what Chuck Todd should have been able to carry the conversation forward with.

Chuck Todd is such a buffoon.

Oh, one more thing:

Apparently last week Chuck Todd went on a massive Twitter "Block" spree because he couldn't handle the criticism he got as the result of an article RawStory published titled: Oops: Chuck Todd slips, admits he can’t do tough interviews because ‘no one will come on’ my show

... stupid Chuck Todd.

Convicted felon: Michael Grimm (R)
Convicted felon: Michael Grimm (R)
Like all felons, Republican Michael Grimm denied violating any laws and like all political felons, Michael Grimm screamed it's a "political witch hunt." However, Michael Grimm knew he, at the very least, he was guilty of: one felony charge of tax fraud, committed perjury, wire fraud and hired illegal immigrants at his restaurant

... all of which Michael Grimm eventually pleaded guilty to.

As a lawyer, Grimm knew/knows that felons are not allowed to vote and are not allowed to serve on an Jury so what the hell made him think he could write and vote on US Laws?

Voting Rights:
Convicted felons like Michael Grimm cannot vote in any election while in prison and/or while on parole.

§ 5-106. Qualifications of voters; reasons for exclusion.

3. No person who has been convicted in a federal court, of  a  felony, or  a crime or offense which would constitute a felony under the laws of this state, shall have the right to register for or vote at any election unless he shall  have  been  pardoned  or  restored  to  the  rights  of citizenship  by  the  president  of  the  United  States, or his maximum sentence of imprisonment has expired, or he  has  been  discharged from parole.

Jury Duty:
Convicted felons like Michael Grimm cannot serve on any State Jury duty
New York Judiciary Law: §510 (3)

Qualifications
In order to qualify as a juror a person must:
1. Be a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the county.
2. Be not less than eighteen years of age.
3. Not have been convicted of a felony.
4. Be able to understand and communicate in the English language.

Despicable:
Michael Grimm, like many politicians, is a self-absorbed, narcissist who, even after pleading guilty in Federal Court to felony charges, continues to say he simply made "mistakes" as opposed to willfully and knowingly violating Federal laws.

But more important, after Michael Grimm pleaded guilty to: one felony, acknowledged he committed perjury, wire fraud and illegally hired undocumented immigrants, what made him think he could continue to write and vote on US Laws?

People need to stop calling #40 a "witness" because she did not "witness" a damn thing and Bob McCulloch knew she never witnessed a GD thing before he called her as a "witness."

Keyword: witness.

McCulloch: There’s talk of one witness now, and some of the media is doing exactly what I said they would do, they pull out one witness and just latch on to that, and this lady clearly wasn’t present when this occurred. She recounted a statement that was right out of the newspaper about Wilson’s actions, and right down the line with Wilson’s actions. Even though I’m sure she was nowhere near the place.
... "even though I'm sure she was nowhere near the place."

First, Bob McCulloch suborned perjury the second he knowingly & willingly called on #40 to testify "as" a "witness" before the Grand Jury since McCulloch knew in advance that #40 never witnessed a GD thing.

Second, Bob McCulloch doubled-down on suborning perjury when he knowingly and willingly called a NONwitness to spew lies and create a clusterf'ck for the Grand Jury

Think about that -- McCollough violated a Federal Law, and could be sent to prison, for knowingly & willfully called a nonwitness to spew lies, under oath to a Grand Jury.

18 U.S. Code § 1622 - Subornation of Perjury
Whoever procures another to commit any perjury is guilty of subornation of perjury, and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
Bob McCulloch should be prosecuted to the fullest extent the Federal law allows for knowingly and willingly 'procuring another to commit perjury.'

Prosecution for Subornation of Perjury requires that the perjury sought must actually have been committed as defined under Federal statutes, 18 U.S.C. §§ 1621 and 1623.

18 U.S.C. § 1621 - Perjury Generally
Whoever--
(1)    having taken an oath before a competent tribunal, officer or person, in any case in which a law of the United States authorizes an oath to be administered, that he will testify, declare, depose, or certify truly, or that any written testimony, declaration, deposition, or certificate by him subscribed, is true, willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes any material matter which he does not believe to be true; or

(2)    in any declaration, certificate, verification, or statement under penalty of perjury as permitted under Section 1746 of Title 28, United States Code, willfully subscribes as true any material matter which he does not believe to be true; is guilty of perjury and shall, except as otherwise expressly provided by law, be fined not more than $2,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. This section is applicable whether the statement or subscription is made within or without the United States.

These Federal statutes apply for very branch and level of government, a competent tribunal, officer, or person, in any case in which a law of the United States authorizes an oath to be administered.

A Grand Jury acting within its jurisdiction is "a competent tribunal" for purposes of these Federal statutes.

To establish a prima facie case for Subornation of Perjury, a Prosecutor must show:

* that perjury was committed;
* that the defendant procured the perjury corruptly, knowing, believing or having reason to believe it to be false testimony; and,
* that the defendant knew, believed or had reason to believe that the perjurer had knowledge of the falsity of his testimony.
Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct, RULE 4-3.3,
A lawyer shall not knowingly offer evidence that the lawyer knows to be false.
Bob McCulloch has made a mockery of the entire Judicial system which resulted in obstruction of justice which is a travesty.

Leave it to Chuck Todd to give an international platform to War Criminal Dick Cheney.

Look, we all know Chuck Todd is going to let Dick Cheney get away with lying through his teeth ... so the least we can do is spread the word to BOYCOTT Chuck Todd's interview with war criminal Dick Cheney.

The US government is derelict in it's duty to not prosecute war criminals from Bush/Cheney Administration and Chuck Todd doesn't even have the attention span to hold Cheney's feet to the fire.

Here are things Chuck Todd should be bring up but won't ... cuz he's Chuck Todd

From 2007 The Atlantic

The phrase "Verschärfte Vernehmung" is German for "enhanced interrogation". Other translations include "intensified interrogation" or "sharpened interrogation". It's a phrase that appears to have been concocted in 1937, to describe a form of torture that would leave no marks, and hence save the embarrassment pre-war Nazi officials were experiencing as their wounded torture victims ended up in court. The methods, as you can see above, are indistinguishable from those described as "enhanced interrogation techniques" by the president. As you can see from the Gestapo memo, moreover, the Nazis were adamant that their "enhanced interrogation techniques" would be carefully restricted and controlled, monitored by an elite professional staff, of the kind recommended by Charles Krauthammer, and strictly reserved for certain categories of prisoner. At least, that was the original plan.

Also: the use of hypothermia, authorized by Bush and Rumsfeld, was initially forbidden. 'Waterboarding" was forbidden too, unlike that authorized by Bush. As time went on, historians have found that all the bureaucratic restrictions were eventually broken or abridged. Once you start torturing, it has a life of its own. The "cold bath" technique - the same as that used by Bush against al-Qahtani in Guantanamo - was, according to professor Darius Rejali of Reed College,

It is not the Torture Report that is putting America lives in danger.

What is putting American lives in danger, right now, is America's refusal to prosecute those who committed war crimes.

Currently, those rightwingers who want to live in a county whose government commits war crime are yelling:

Marco Rubio: "the Torture report puts American lives in danger."
and
Fox News' Andrea Tantaros: "... all this [Torture Report] does is have our enemies laughing at us, that we are having this debate again,"
Which both are complete bullshit.  Our "enemies" are not "laughing at us," our enemies are getting pissed off and saying 'who the f'ck does America think it is?'

To underscore my point ...

8:01 PM, December 8, Marco Rubio tried to give the world the illusion that America gives a flying fig about Human Rights because Rubio sponsored and got passed a Bill to sanction Venezuela for Human Rights Violations:

Yet, within 15 hours of Rubio sitting on his high and moral horse made of wrinkled playing cards -- Rubio showed the world he doesn't really give a damn if Governments commit human rights violations, war crimes and/or illegally torture people.

ummm .... isn't one reason Rubio's parents left Cuba because they did not want to live in a country whose  government committed war crimes?

Yeah, the fact that America committed war crimes is bad enough. But, not prosecuting those who committed the war crimes is a crime in and of itself ... and that is what is putting American lives in danger now.

The point to this diary:
When you hear Michael Hayden spin his garbage today, remember, Michael Hayden is a war criminal and a liar.

October 2013 Thinkprogress reported

Riding on the Acela express train between New York and Washington, DC, Hayden had the bad luck of sitting near entrepreneur and former MoveOn.org director Tom Matzzie. “Former NSA spy boss Michael Hayden on Acela behind me blabbing ‘on background as a former senior admin official’,” Matzzie wrote on his Twitter account. “Sounds defensive.” For the next twenty minutes, Mattzie continued to livetweet Hayden’s conversations slamming the Obama administration, all the while insisting that he be referred to only on background.

I just got a phone call from a friend living in Somerset, Kentucky (Hal Rogers district).  She said she called Hal Rogers office to leave a message about a comment he made that is being reported in the Kentucky newspapers.

Kentucky newspaper reports

"With this new proposal, the president has once again demonstrated his willingness to act unilaterally - against the spirit of our Constitution, against the law of Congress, and against the will of the American people - to make misguided, unwarranted changes to our immigration laws," Rogers said in a statement.

"His flagrant disregard for our nation's laws is not only disappointing but deeply unsettling - I won't stand for it, and the American people won't stand for it," he said.

According to my friend, it was Rogers "I won't stand for it" comment that caused her to call Rogers DC office.

When she called, a female answered the phone and said she'd be happy to pass along "any comment" she has for Rep. Rogers.  So, my friend said she dictated a comment to Rogers receptionist:

Dear Hal Rogers (comma)
You've only worked 70 days this year (period)
You just got off of a 52 day vacation (period)
You are leaving work today for an extended one week long vacation (period)
When you say "I won't stand for it" you sound foolish since you are not letting your work get in the way of your vacation days (period)

Sincerely
C. Clark
Somerset, KY.

Here's where it got dicey.  Ms. Clark asked the receptionist to repeat back her message to make sure everything was included.  Rather than read the comment back the receptionist said "I'll make sure he gets your message."  Clark asked again for her to repeat the comment, the receptionist said, "no" and hung up.

My friend wasn't satisfied that Rogers was really going to get her message so she called back and this time spoke with "Ashley."

Ashely apologized for the other receptionist hanging up and said she'd "be happy to pass along any message to Rep. Rogers." Clark says she gave the exact same message to Ashley and when Clark asked her to read back her comment and Ashley said "no, I don't have time."  Clark says she said, "I want to make sure my Representative gets my message, please read it back to me."  Again, Ashely said "I don't have time, I have phones to answer" and hung up.

Ironically, the Kentucky newspaper reports that Hal Rogers concluded his statement with,

ROGERS: "We have heard the collective outrage of the American people,"

I find it very hard to believe that a Representative's receptionist does not have time to read a constituent's short message back.  But, what I find harder to believe is it seems people who answer phones for members of Congress go out of their way to be rude to constituents.  That said, to me it smells like the receptionist has no intention of giving Hal Rogers C. Clark's message.

So, I ask you, my DKos family, to please call Hal Rogers DC office and ask them if they really are giving C. Clark's message to Hal Rogers and if they really wrote her message down.

Thank you.

H.A. Goodman posted a lengthy article titled, "I'm a liberal Democrat. I will vote for Rand Paul in 2016."

Wow! That's a click-bait headline if I ever did see one.

In Goodman's flawed and poorly researched article, he pretends there are only three people who will run in 2016: Hillary, Jeb Bush and Rand Paul.  As I say, poorly researched as he completely omits, ignores and never discusses the very real possibility that Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren may run.

Seriously, at this point who the hell knows who will run in 2016, but, "liberal Democrat" H.A. Goodman doesn't care who else may run, by gosh, he's letting everyone know that no matter who else runs, he "will vote for Rand Paul in 2016."
(I will not link to his article because I don't think it deserves the clicks - yes, it's that bad.)

H.A. Goodman listed 10 points (reasons) why he will vote for Rand Paul in 2016.  This diary goes through Goodman's points and adds facts that Goodman intentionally left out.  I felt the most misleading and incredibly intellectually dishonest point Goodman wrote about was number 6. So, I will start with 6 and then use reverse chronological order to add facts that Goodman intentionally left out.

Goodman's number 6:

6. Rand Paul publicized the issue of a possible government drone strike, on American soil, against American citizens ... Eric Holder actually answered that theoretically, yes, drone strikes to kill Americans on U.S. soil could be viewed as legal, depending on the circumstance. If this doesn't frighten you, then vote for Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush, since neither one cares about this matter ... only Rand Paul and a few others have shown outrage over the potential of our government to possibly target its own citizens.

~ H.A. Goodman puff-piece (emphasis added)

With just a little research Goodman would know that Rand Paul does support droning Americans on US soil.
April 23, 2013
RAND PAUL: “I’ve never argued against any technology being used when you have an imminent threat, an active crime going on. If someone comes out of a liquor store with a weapon and fifty dollars in cash, I don’t care if a drone kills him or a policeman kills him.”

~ Rand Paul on Fox News

"imminent threat" and "alleged shoplifting" is all it takes for an American on US soil to get droned to death by Rand Paul.

Goodman's article is wrong, Rand Paul is not "outrage[d] over the potential of our government to possibly target its own citizens" In fact, Rand Paul admits he would drone Americans on US soil without even giving them opportunity for Due Process.

H.A. Goodman posted a lengthy article on why he, as a "liberal Democrat" will vote for Rand Paul in 2016.

Let me be clear, I don't give one fig who H.A. Goodman supports for any position. All I care about is that Goodman (and all media) use current and complete facts when writing about people they support.

After reading his piece, it's clear to me that H.A. Goodman's article is intellectually dishonest.  Goodman intentionally misleads his readers by omitting important and serious facts about Rand Paul's real positions. Goodman clearly has an 'agenda' and is willing to forego journalistic integrity by omitting facts.  In my view, when a journalist omits facts, then that journalist is lying.

But, what agenda does H.A. Goodman have? Does Goodman hate Hillary so much that he is willing to print false praise on Rand Paul?

Notice, Goodman tweeted "Greenwald hates Hillary too." Get that? "too" as in "also."

So Goodman "hates Hillary too" and Goodman is going to use his power as a journalist to puff-up Rand Paul by leaving out facts that contradict Goodman's agenda.  What is Goodman's agenda? Goodman's tweet shows: he hates Hillary.

Ok, I know I don't have the "readership" Goodman has, but, this diary will show H.A. Goodman's puff-piece on Rand Paul is filled will serious errors and Goodman, like many in the media, omits facts that contradict Goodman's agenda for personal gain. (I will not link to his article because I don't think it deserves the clicks.)

Ok, so this sums up the ridiculous GOP Hearing on Ebola ... or is it Eboli.

Republican evolution denier, Darrell Issa, who proved he is so out-of-touch with current events that he could not even pronounce Ebola and he did not even know what continent Ebola is an epidemic in. Kind of makes one wonder what Darrell Issa is doing on his taxpayer funded 52 day vacation.

ISSA: A nurse at this hospital infected with Eboli, fostered the development of Eboli -ah- treatments.  In the West African natia -- nature -- nation of Guyana ... to serve as the Eboli czar ... A doctor in New York city tested positive for Eboli and this is particularly distressing.
"distressing" ... I'll tell you what is distressing. It is distressing that the GOPers who most likely failed 2nd grade science waste our money holding crazy hearing on topics they know nothing about.

So, Darrell Issa proved, once again, that he is a self-serving partisan hack who operates from a dishonest partisan stance. #BENGHAZI ... #EBOLI

Next we have 11-term, 71 year old Republican John Mica who not only denies evolution but also gave us an example of his blatant misogyny when he screamed at Secretary Dr. Lurie for something she had zero to do with.

MICA (R-Fl) "Are you in charge of being prepared? OK, then I think you need to turn your resignation in!"
John Mica screamed, and I mean screamed, those words at Secretary Dr. Lurie while he was waving a report on Ebola preparedness. However, The report did not concern Dr. Lurie's Agency, but rather efforts by the Department of Homeland Security.

So, Dr. Lurie is a female who was unnecessarily chastised by John Mica who does not believe in evolution or global warming ... and ... cannot differentiate between Health & Human Services and Dept. of Homeland Security.

As usual, all their nonsense has caused an unnecessary panic from those with the loudest voices.  Which is why I have no idea why CNN even bothered to have science failure, Darrell Issa, on their show today -- especially since Issa thinks people are being infected with Eboli.

In entertainment: hate sells, fearmongering sells and comedy sells.

Fox News hires clowns to spew hate and fear 24/7.  The biggest Fox Clown is Roger Ailes.  For Ailes, selling  hatred for Muslims is high on his list of hate to sell on Fox News.

Roger Ailes has a deep seeded hatred of a lot of groups, including but not limited to a deep seeded hatred for Muslims.  In 2011, Tim Dickenson of Rolling Stone Magazine wrote that Roger Ailes put the entire Fox News on "lockdown” after “observing a dark-skinned man in what Ailes perceived to be Muslim garb.”

Roger Ailes keeps a monitor on his desk that allows him to view any activity outside his closed door. Once, after observing a dark-skinned man in what Ailes perceived to be Muslim garb, he put Fox News on lockdown. “What the hell!” Ailes shouted. “This guy could be bombing me!” The suspected terrorist turned out to be a janitor. “Roger tore up the whole floor,” recalls a source close to Ailes. “He has a personal paranoia about people who are Muslim – which is consistent with the ideology of his network.”
Megyn Kelly and her Exec Producer, Tom Lowell are two other Fox Clowns.  Tom Lowell is so eager to sell hate and fear that he got pissed when one of Megyn Kelly's Islamaphob, fearmongering segments was pulled over concerns for the guest's personal safety.

The guest, Noor, who claims he went to the same Mosque as the Oklahoma man who beheaded a co-worker, was to remain anonymous during the interview so he was shrouded in darkness.

Prior to the interview, the anonymous guest, Noor, told Fox he did not need his voice distorted.  However, after the interview, the guest, Noor, apparently got nervous and said he did not want his actual voice being aired.  Therefore, one of the show's producers pulled the video over concern's of Noor's personal safety and did not run the segment.

That's when Tom Lowell got pissed.

In an email exchange with Talking Points Memo, Lowell wrote that he, nor management give a damn about the guest's personal safety.

Lowell wrote: “‘Noor’ knowingly agreed to appear on The Kelly File in silhouette and was given the option to disguise his voice, which he chose not to do. Following the interview, ‘Noor’ expressed apprehension about his voice not being disguised and in response, a producer removed the video out of concern for the guest’s personal safety . This was an error in judgment. Once management was made aware of the situation, the video was put back up in its original form.”

(emphasis added)

"... an error in judgment" ... pulling the segment over concerns for the guest's personal safety was an "error in judgement" and "Once management was made aware of the situation, the video was put back up in its original form.”

This diary covers two aspects of Ave Maria University's strangle-hold on women.  One aspect the Town of Ave Maria, Florida and the other is Ave Maria University's which are owned and governed by the same person, Tom Monaghan - who also founded Dominos Pizza.

Ave Maria University's founder, Tom Monaghan, also owns and governs the entire Town of Ave Maria, Florida and he has banned contraception in the entire town.  In fact, the one and only OB/GYN in the Town of Ave Maria will not ... will not ... prescribe contraception medication to any woman for any reason at all.  For kicks, you can call the only OB/GYN in the town and find out for yourself: (239) 658-5100.

MONAGHAN: "... we will be able to control what goes on there. You won't be able to buy a Playboy or Hustler magazine in Ave Maria Town. We're going to control the cable television that comes in the area. There is not going to be any pornographic television in Ave Maria Town. If you go to the drug store and you want to buy the pill or the condoms or contraception, you won't be able to get that in Ave Maria Town."

~Wall Street Journal

The one and only church in the Town of Ave Maria (pictured above) is   owned by Tom Monaghan's Corporation, Quasi-Parish of Ave Maria Oratory, Inc.  You will notice, Monaghan's church is conveniently located in the center of the town.

Tom Monaghan's ban on contraception for all women living within the Town of Ave Maria, Florida, regardless of their religion shows Tom Monaghan wants to have a strangle-hold on all women, not just his employees.  But, as you will see below, Tom Monaghan's control of woman and men does not stop with contraception.

I should note here, Tom Monaghan also founded the Ave Maria Law School in 1999.  You will be comforted in knowing that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia assisted in developing Monaghan's school's curriculum, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas gave Monaghan's school's their first annual Ave Maria Lecture and Ave Maria Law School Faculty included conservative Supreme Court nominee Judge Robert Bork.

Friends in high places ....
