It's sad. I've been a regular poster here for 7 years. Over the last few months Daily Kos has become a swarming cesspool of drama queens, purity police, and right-wing trolls egging the former groups on. I know there are dedicated progressives here, but you're being drowned out by the crapflooders. Apparently, criticizing Joe Lieberman for his backstabbing ways is antisemitic. I think that it is funny that I am being characterized as such, since all y'all's sky fairies are nonexistent anyway.
At any rate, since it is impossible to criticize Joe Lieberman (who has betrayed his country, his party, and his planet) but impossible to even point out the positive accomplishments of Barack Obama, I am leaving. I guess this site is all bullshit, all the time now. Reality-based community IT IS NOT.
I actually came back to use this site to test a change in IE I'm implementing to forget passwords. I figured it was the best place, because after I sign off today, I'm not coming back, and the password I change my account to will be unrecoverable. As in some variation on asd;flkj;qweflkjw which I will not attempt to write down.
Markos, you have completely lost control of your site and are allowing arrogant right-wing fucktards to push the conversation all over the place, derail threads, and generally spread hysterical chaos. You've also failed to learn anything whatsoever from the last three, four, five, six, seven, ten election cycles. If the idea of DK is to promote the election of Democrats, well with friends like these we don't need enemies.
I almost think you've gotten a taste of fame and success and decided that controversy drives more eyeballs than credibility. Trust me, message received. I know there's a progressive community here but I imagine the more intelligent/caring/useful of them are being driven off by the childish horsing around you are either encouraging or ignoring.
If you aren't careful you're going to end up with the same sad story as Jane Hamsher -- formerly dedicated liberal activist, now shameless whore who will say/do anything to get attention.
Finally, I'm done with citizen activism. I've got such a bad taste in my mouth from the many turds that have been shoved down it that I'm like whatever. If the country falls to shit because the progressive movement was more interested in purity purges than getting something accomplished, I'll find a new country. My will to live has been completely sucked out, guys. And my circulatory system cannot handle any more rank stupidity.
