For everyone who is laser-focused on what a hard-right SCOTUS with respect to Roe v. Wade, there are many more cases that hard-right would like to seek overturned.
Here is an abridged list (mostly Warren Court decisions):
Obergefell v. Hodges — Gay marriage
Griswold v. Connecticut — Access to birth control
Engel v. Vitale — Proscription against state-sponsored prayer
Loving v. Virginia — Inter-racial marriage
Brown v. Board of Education — Desegregation
Reynolds v. Sims — States are required to reapportion their legislatures to track population changes
Miranda v. Arizona — Police are required to inform suspects of their rights
Trop v. Dulles — Citizenship cannot be revoked as punishment for a crime
Brady v. Maryland — Prosecution must turn over to the defense any exculpatory evidence
Gideon v. Wainwright — The government must provide a lawyer to criminal defendants if so desired
and even as far back as
West Coast Hotel Co. v. Parrish — Minimum wage laws are constitutional
Another handy guide is looking at the Lochner era and seeing how a SCOTUS that felt that governmental regulation was an unconstitutional infringement into private contract rights would rule on various cases.
I feel that most pundits out there have a distinct lack of imagination in how far the SCOTUS could go in overturning precedent. Most people’s hot-buttons are social issues (and I listed several of them), but the economic ones are much more far-reaching in terms of who has control over your life.
