LIBYA: Journalists are blocked from Libya, so all reporting is from people involved. With most communications disrupted, it is very difficult to verify stories. But, we're reading/hearing things such as doctors being executed by Gaddafi's people and a massacre in Benghazi where security officers invited people into an enclosed area saying they supported the protests, but then shot them all when they had them trapped. It sounds like some towns on the Eastern border may now be under the control of the protesters. All around the country, protesters are waiting for people in Tripoli to come out in profound numbers. Without that, they fear the worst.

Student in Tripoli reports on the differences between east and west:
The attitude in Tripoli contrasts starkly with that in the Easy. Many people in Tripoli do not believe that what is happening in the East is real, they either attribute it to the 'propaganda' of al-Jazeera (against which have been directed several slogans) or say that Egyptians and Tunisians have infiltrated the country, that 'real Libyans' wouldn't do such things. Historically, the two regions have not been great friends, and now whatever tension there was recently has been sharpening into open hate and disgust towards Eastern Libyans. Some people refer to them as 'Zionists and Israelis'.

Anonymous comes out in support of Libyan protesters:
Anonymous is willing to bring its help to the brave people of Libya. Anonymous declares by this statement its engagement with them in the common goal. We, the people, will not remain silent while dictators fire upon their citizens. We, the people, will not remain inactive while the powerful crush peaceful claims with violence.
Read the whole letter. It's awesome. Right out of superhero comic books.
