It's been rather amusing to watch the fallout from the GOP's latest blatant appeal to racism in the form of "Barack the Magic Negro." It is a measure of how bizarre these times are that someone running for Chair of the RNC after the blowout rejection of GOP race-baiting not even two months ago would include a song like "Barack the Magic Negro" in a CD meant to enhance his election prospects. The most common defense marshalled by folks on the right is that "Barack the Magic Negro" is merely political satire, just humor, folks. Nothing to see here, no racism, no appeal to the lizard brain that animates the still-twitching body of GOP politics. Move on, move on.
Thank you, GOPers, for inspiring "Rush the Magic White Man". It's been fun, and don't forget, it's just political satire.
