Last night at Slim's in San Francisco was "Barbara Boxer Rocks" night. You see, this evening was supposed to be a CD release party, but when the members of Flying Other Brothers Band saw Senator Boxer hold Condi Rice accountable during SOS confirmation hearings, they changed the evening into a night "to honor Barbara Boxer and her courage to stand up to Condoleezza Rice."
Other performers were: Boz Scaggs, Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), G.E. Smith, Country Joe McDonald, David Nelson, The Court and Spark, and David Jacobs-Strain.
The music was great, and of course, had a very progressive message and some not so kind words about the Bush Aministration. But from my perspective, Senator Boxer was the star. Senator Boxer was in attendance and had a great time. She spoke halfway through the concert. She said the right wing radicals love to intimidate, but that she was not gonna back down.
