I don't think I have ever commented here or written a diary but when I got the Questionnaire in my in-box and read the questions, I was, without a doubt, horrified.
I also was not too impressed with the comments. We have untold hundreds of thousands of innocent dead people and blood pouring all over the M.E. Other vital issues are: Torture, a kill list, military using drones and so many murderous and inhumane activities performed in our name by our government all we can talk about here is gay marriage and abortion?
D.K.'s minuscule list of issues that "help define not only who we as progressives are, but they articulate a vision for what we want the Democratic Party to look like." concerns me. I have never been a republican and never will be but I can say that I am no longer a Democrat either. Nor a libertarian. I have no party affiliation any more; a choice made from observation of the parties and their players at work. However, I do consider myself a progressive.
Quite honestly, I am horrified by the choices we have in this election and even more horrified about the disease of divisiveness of dems and repubs and liberals and conservatives and left and right having been so wide spread among my fellow countrymen and women. Before I am a Democrat, a woman, a liberal, a whatever, I am a human being. I can not endorse either of these candidates with a clear conscious and I am so very sad to see so many of us ignore the way more important issues of war, torture, drones, etc losing it's place on the list of questions let alone first place. Seriously, this is truly a sad, sad day for this country and the people we have become. And if this is the progressive community type - I suppose I am no longer considering myself a progressive either.
