….a Bernie support story.
We’ve heard "the math” literally from day one of Bernie’s campaign. From the Front Page to the back page and all the pages in between. We get “the math”. Bernie’s campaign is about much more than “the math”.
Bernie and his supporters have known from the beginning we have an Everest like mountain to climb. We chose not to focus on how unlikely getting there would be but instead chose to focus on how getting to the top would be a glorious achievement for all of us. So with Bernie as our and leader we just started climbing. A lot of people pooh-poohed us and laughed. Pretty soon more and more people started joining us on that climb and although difficult, things became a lot more fun.
The more people that joined us and the higher we climbed the more the gatekeepers of the mountain began to worry. We began to hear, "You’re not going to make it, it’s much to far. Look how many miles you have to go.”
Yet we continued to climb.
Even more people joined us and as we helped and supported each other towards our goal, inspired by our INTREPID leader, the voices against us got louder and louder and more insistent.
“You’re not facing the facts! It’s a long long way and difficult. You are never never ever going to be there. You are even foolish to believe otherwise!”
Yet, we continued to climb.
Before long, although it was a still a long way off, we could see the mountain top. We had made an incredible amount of progress and were excited and joyful. The path became clearer and more well defined. Plus even more people joined us on our journey and shared their own struggles in trying to reach a place that would hold a better life for all of us. We began to climb faster and stronger.
Now the voices of “reason” are clamoring ever louder and more strident against us.
"You have no chance! Fools. Morans! (yes I know) Can't your lying eyes see how very very far and how utterly devastatingly hopeless your quest is?
Can’t you see…….
We Own The Mountain”!
Yet, we continue to climb. Supporting Bernie and supporting each other.
