What's the point of casting an Absentee Ballot? ...when it won't even be counted, anyway... and the candidate you vote for concedes the election before all the votes are counted.
All the focus of the media spin has been on provisional ballots yet to be counted in Ohio. But what about the absentee ballots there, and in Florida? Reports show that there are up to 1.6 million absentee votes in Florida yet to be counted. Yet Fox and NBC call Florida for Bush. CNN and others note that 99% of districts completed reporting in Florida; again, where is the acknowledgement of the yet uncounted absentee ballots? Out of sight, out of mind?
All this sends a terrible message to absentee voters including those citizens outside of the country and others not able to cast their votes in their home districts. This sets a terrible precedent. One can't blame them now for saying, "So what's the point of casting an absentee ballot?"
