from a fellow kossack who used it a few weeks ago.

I had been using "privateers" to describe these behaviors in both historic sense and as a combo of private/profiteers.

But the history of "privateer" and original meaning of "filibuster" as a looting the booty shipping menace --- seems to be getting lost in the dumbsizing of our language.

"Pirate" -- is made current by actual piracy becoming a  ransom menace reported even in downstreaming media.

Using "piratize" removes the slickly propagandized pretend benefits promoted by those about to commit "privatize."

"Piratize" is a precise & concise mental picture of unwarranted ugly theft of the property of others.  Pass it on.

PS -- don't tell Teabaggies that the original Boston Harbor brew was a pirate event -- seizing & destroying shiploads of other people's stuff in Indian disguise to avoid consequences.  Come to think of it -- their beef then was paying taxes they owed for the cost of our war to steal land we were gifted by non-owner kings.

They are pirates- stealing the taxpayer's money while providing less services (paid for empty beds), more risk to public safety, while lavishing money to their CEOs and investor buddies.
