is about, not interested.  There is plenty of that elsewhere.

    Best wishes to you.

    •  From the group profile (7+ / 0-)
Cranky Users is a group for Kossacks who think DK4 is scary or weird or hard to figure out. We're gonna hold hands, help each other out, ask dumb questions, laugh ourselves silly, and make DK4 work for us.

If you're going to abandon a group because of a comment I made in someone else's diary, so be it. You're mad at me, not the Cranky Users group, and we both know it. Please be more precise in your criticism.
      •  No, Kelley, I won't be more precise in my (0+ / 0-)

criticism, because I'm positive you won't like it and it won't accomplish anything, other than the offending comments receive their due responses.  So what?

You've allowed politics into this group, and of course, that's your call.   I'm sorry it headed this way, but it's not the first "community diary" to sanction it.  But again, that's your call.

I've always liked the Cranky Users diaries, and as you know, I have participated in them for quite a while, whenever I saw that one was posted.

I hope you have a great night.

You have run afoul of the Communitarians ... a group of bloggers on DKos who have their own definition of community and have appointed themselves the deciderers of how everyone else's community should function.

To them community is running around uprating foul comments by people who they agree with politically whether the comment is off topic, on topic or pure garbage.

        How dare you define community?

Maybe it's just me, but if I were to encounter a rant in a diary from the CRANKY USERS GROUP, I wouldn't be too shocked. If I were to encounter a rant in a comment in a diary from the CRANKY USERS GROUP, I also wouldn't be too shocked. Gooderservice is entitled to his opinion - his CRANKY opinion - and I wish him luck in defining the word community for the rest of us.

          Hmmmpf.

            gets on my last nerve.

I do not know where these people came from. I don't remember them from my years here ... they seem to have simply bubbled up from some backed up drain somewhere and now they seek to impose their definitions and rules on everyone else.

I have been a member of a lot of different communities on DKos. A community comes together for a variety of  reasons ... some of them may be political, some may be social, maybe a combination of the two. It is ridiculous for someone who is not in the community to define what the rules (or lack of rules) in the community should be.

Here is a simple definition: if you do not like what you see or hear in a community diary don't join in. Don't belittle it or deny it is a community. Just ... move ... on.

It does not get much simpler.

on DK4 - not a master tag. Remember that? Hmm. Do you remember who fought with Markos to get that changed? Lessee ... it was a diary with a catchy title ... by someone who writes all kinds of community diaries ... oh, yeah! ... Nurse Kelley Sez: Has DK4 forgotten community?

It boggles the mind, Jan. When the pie fights move to Cranky Users, KosAbility, and J Town, you know Daily Kos has jumped the shark.
