  •  The point is that after Nixon it didn't matter (0+ / 0-)

No stick worked.  The Left was toast politically, because Nixon was able to characterize everyone on the Left as radical because of the actions of a few.  And again, most of the radical movement was strongly infiltrated by government agents and provocateurs.  I promise you that's happening now.  Revolutionary politics is what's over.

Non-violence is what turned hearts, not fear.  The white voters who elected Barack Obama did so out of fairness, not fear. Fear is a negative force that backfires on its proponents and causes more suffering.  There is enough suffering in the world already, why cause more?

How about we have a peaceful revolution for once?  Peace is as radical a thought as there is.  You flummox the enemy when you don't fight back, and the injustice they perpetrate on you motivates all who witness it, and turns them toward you.  It also shows moral courage, and inspires.  I would rather inspire than terrify.

There is a lot to be angry about, and I understand the impulse to lash out.   But causing more suffering doesn't bring peace.  The only thing that has ever conquered hate is love.

So love your neighbor.  Radical anger doesn't work.  Radical love does, and will.

    Which side are you on?
