  •  I know you hate President Obama, but (0+ / 0-)

the reason that Clinton's name is mentioned rather than Obama is because the supposed "smoking gun" is a person with ties directly to Clinton, not Obama.

As I posted elsewhere, I find the attack against Clitnton to be an unjustified smear by the far left, who have given up arguing against Tar-Sands on the merits and have instead resorted to smear tactics, so I'm not attacking her.  I'm merely pointing out why Clinton's name would appear in this story rather than Obama's.  It's clear that YOUR agenda is to broaden the smear from Clinton to the one you really hate.

    •  Hate Obama? LOL (8+ / 0-)

Why not just say "Obama hater!!!!!!!!!1111" and save yourself the time.

I say Escamillo should just go straight for the Triple Dog Dare with "Obama Bashing!", just to summon the spirit of partisans of the eight years prior for shits and giggles.

    •  Hate Obama - is that all you've got ? (0+ / 0-)

This is tied to Obama because IT'S HIS State Department

Remember he only said that he would avoid interfering with the DOJ - this is NOT the DOJ so he has ZERO escape clause

Whenever you've got nothing of substance with which to defend your darling, you start whining with your "all you do is bash Obama" - no different from the actions of the Chimpy worshippers

      •  Yeah, remember when he said that... (0+ / 0-)
Remember he only said that he would avoid interfering with the DOJ
...just before he DID the opposite?
But as Holder considered launching an investigation, he immediately began to feel pushback from the White House. Behind the scenes, as Jane Mayer has reported in The New Yorker, Emanuel barked to an intermediary, "Didn't he get the memo that we're not relitigating the past?" And appearing on the Sunday-morning talk shows in April, Emanuel pressed the issue publicly, insisting that the authors of the torture memos "should not be prosecuted. This is not a time for retribution." At the White House podium, press secretary Robert Gibbs chimed in, "Those that followed the legal advice and acted in good faith on that legal advice shouldn't be prosecuted."

To call these comments inappropriate would be to praise the White House with faint damnation. Just a few years earlier, the Bush team had ignited a national scandal when political operatives tried to influence U.S. attorneys, yet the Obama administration had gone a step further, allowing operatives to apply political pressure on the attorney general himself.

Chalk it up to another F@iL!.

    •  how is this a smear? (0+ / 0-)

if the emails do in fact show anything other than an arms length relationship, it's improper.  Of course, since the "smoking gun" emails do not appear to have been released, it's impossible to judge.

Intelligent, passionate, perceptive people will always disagree, but we should not let that disagreement, however heartfelt, lead us to become deaf to those better angels of our nature.
