    Horrifyingly, I actually think they support the idea of removing all insurance coverage for women's contraception, even if women want it. It's not an issue of lack of understanding; it's a lack of respect for women and empathy for their needs.

    The whole fundamental failure of social conservatives and other right-wing religious clowns is that they actually believe that their personal opinion is a valid basis for public policy and laws that apply to everyone (despite their massively hypocritical claims of being "libertarian" at the same time). They believe that all who disagree with them are wrong, and therefore have no right to object. They also don't seem to understand that their religious beliefs are no more "special" than anyone else's personal opinion, since they have no basis in observable reality. Religious beliefs cannot be empirically verified, and thus anyone can just make up anything and claim it's the will of God. That's why the "will of God" is nearly always identical to the opinion of the person making the claim about the contents of the divine will. What's amazing is that more people don't seemingly notice this fact.
