    •  Maybe (4+ / 0-)

It almost seems like the want to destroy everything. Obama, to give him credit, wants to maintain something like the status quo. The right wants to create chaos--or at least if you take their rhetoric to its logical conclusion.

      •  that is, indeed, the difference (1+ / 0-)

the Dems just want to help the rich stay very rich and get richer--without destroying the very system that makes that possible.

The Repubs--want to loot every last drop of blood out of the system and cause a bloody, shrieking collapse.

        •  Do you think this is a conscious intent? (0+ / 0-)

I think it is an unconscious intent due to radical suppression of their intellect and emotions. They seem to have to do that in order to maintain a simple, tribalist and narrow view in the face of modernism and the information age when you either embrace the change that new perspective offers you or try not to see it which, creates the stirring up of destructive unconscious impulses. Hence the appeal an ideology that is so bizarre and ripped with internal contradictions that even calling it an ideology seems insane; it is more like a cargo-cult.

Fortunately, we don't really have to worry--the political parties I can now officially say have nothing whatsoever to do with ruling the country. It's been moving in that direction for some time. Just look at Republican field of candidates if any of the potential front-runners get elected they'll have little real power, even less than Obama.

          •  yes, very much like a cargo cult (0+ / 0-)

            and quite insane.

thing is, a lot of the financial guys seem to be members of the same cult
