    Atheists are in the same protected class as religious believers and are protected by the same laws.  The country club opened it facilities to the public so they can’t discriminate against people based on race, color, religion, or national origin per the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  If they had kept the facility closed to the public then they would be within their rights to do as they have, but they didn’t, so they aren’t.

    Political opinions are not protected, so if Neo-Nazis show up at their door step they would not be obligated to allow them to use the facility.  I am no lawyer, and what I just wrote is cribbed off an email that CFI just sent out, but I think that the Wyndgate club just stepped in some deep doo-doo and is going to rue the day they did.
