In the present of an officer of the law, the citizen must fall protstrate with fear and trembling, then when given leave to rise, must bow at the waist once, take three steps backward, bow at the wait once again, take another three steps backward, and continue in this fashion until out of sight of the officer.  At no time during this process may they exhale, put eyes on the officer, turn their head, or engage in any other non-sanctioned movement.  Violations are punishable by pillory and flogging.

Democracy? You'll shoot your eye out, kid.
