Just speaking for myself, I have no certainty that the strategy being followed by the Occupy/99% movement will work.  What I do know is that given the realities of how the relations of power have developed in our society, it's ojne of the few and diminishing options that actually has a chance.  And as the paramilitarized police power crackdowns on Occupy on a nationalized basis makes evident, that congealing power  is increasingly willing to act in an openly authoritarian and repressive manner.  Of all the acts of state violence directed against occupiers over the past few weeks, perhaps the most telling of all was the destruction of the 5500-volume People's Library at Zuccotti Park.  In the wake of a century of totalitarianism, how can such an act be anything but a clarion call of an assault on liberty itself?  So anyone willing to recognize this is not just welcome, but desperately needed in the struggle against the rising Corporate State.

If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing. ~Malcolm X
