  •  ONE thing OWS has going for it in a big way (6+ / 0-)

is the TRUTH.  And the truth usually wears very well, indeed.
Many people are already aware that our government is corrupt.  Thanks to OWS now every one will at least hear about it and discuss it.

"Rather than love, than money give me the truth" - Henry David Thoreau

I always wondered who in government has the brazen balls and dysfunctional values to think that it is OK for corporations to basically bribe politicians with big money to do their bidding, most of the time to the detriment of our citizens.  This issue has surely come up many times in Congress but nothing was ever done.   Now I wonder who is responsible for blocking needed change? No doubt it was the Group of Pricks (GOP) who smell up our congress with their depraved values.

The ironic thing is that corporations forbid their employees who interact with vendors from taking any sort of gifts from said vendors because it might influence their "judgmrnt" about who is selling the best and most cost effective supplies for their needs.  Corporations are not stupid, but neither are they ethical.  So they will gladly exercise the same behavior they forbid within their own company (taking bribes) if the law allows it.  That is the way corporations are. - Ethics really mean very little to them although they will never admit it.  We all know that.  And that is why regulation of the private sector is critically important in a capitalist system.  The GOP will argue the opposite but they , of course, are clearly full of shit.   Our government has developed into a corrupt self serving system and anyone in Congress who has not been opposed to all these corporate lobbyists (the corruptors) has to go We need to modify the system of campaign financing.  The Supreme Court is a disgrace and those responsible for the Citizens United decision need to be thrown out.
