about which system is more robust in terms of people helping each other out and where you fit, either in the US or in Germany. I've only been an expat in the UK for five years but would bet money that the local network in my small village here would cooperate better than my old neighbourhood in the US. The English are used to these cycles (as are some Germans); Americans tend to panic. However, some amount of panic is warranted and might effect change more quickly. My gut feeling is that Americans are more innovative, but Europeans are more cooperative. Which mindset would cope better?
