by the sub-site DK elections. I also live and work in WV-1. Furthermore there is no rule that the DCCC has to stay neutral in a race. They often endorse and make sure there candidate makes it through the primary. My biggest qualm with OFA is the perception of the general voter in WV-1. They will not and do not support Obama. That is a major issue in the race.

    •  Agreed (0+ / 0-)

Agree about whether or not WV voters in general support the President.

    •  Obama is not the issue (0+ / 0-)

Sue is a Democrat, she is running for Congress. Obama won because he mobilized Democrats, and now he is our Democratic president.

Using Obama to attack Sue is all wrong. We want what the Democrats promised, that our national Democrats have not delivered.

      Go Sue!!

I know buff2011, and am certain that he wishes Sue all the success in the world.

He's just referring to the difficulties that recent D Presidential candidates have faced in WV-01, i.e. from Wikipedia,

While the district and state as a whole has been very Democratic, West Virginia Democrats tend to be somewhat more socially conservative than their counterparts in the rest of the nation. No Democrat since Bill Clinton (who did so by a plurality in a three way race) has carried the 1st District in presidential elections. George W. Bush carried the district both times in 2000 with 54% of the vote and 2004 with 58% of the vote. John McCain carried the district in 2008 with 56.77% of the vote while Barack Obama received 41.51%.

"I hope; therefore, I can live."
