I love the Tiger Mom bit. Here is a funny guide "Collection of tactics for dealing with Mommy" made by some Primary 4 schoolgirls for their classmates and was posted by one of their Moms on Sohu with comments from bloggers on Weibo.

I hope you can read it or have a friend to translate, it's really quite clever and funny, including advice on situation and frequency of use and includes diversionary tactics like asking to use the toilet when Mommy is giving you a lecture or covering your ears a saying "I can't hear you".

    It went totally viral.

    What about my Daughter's future?

I push him to do what I know he can, but not in a hard way. For example, he is a good speller, and took an unplanned spelling test before the holidays and won in his classroom.(about 25 kids). So he has a list of words to study for a competition in January. He can already spell at least half of the 300 words, and a little work could bring him to a win, or certainly a good performance. He just isn't that motivated to study, although he will still do pretty well. At sports he is competitive, and he likes to win, but I don't do well at "forcing him."
