    After the very enjoyable first half our or so, it loses its sense of direction.

    There's also the fact that Sam Rockwell spends too much time panicking and shouting "Humma Kavula!" at the expense of actually being funny. A case of good casting, bad scripting/directing. And while I adore Zooey Deschanel, the part of Trillian calls for someone whip-smart. Someone like Sarah Polley, maybe.
