  •  Insurance reform was the headline (2+ / 0-)

I've always thought that Medicare reform was where the administration's priorities lay during the ACA fight. They've been trying to get a handle on Medicare costs from jump.

I also think that insurance reform as it is, was more a precursor to moving all of us into the individual market. You can't get guaranteed issue without the mandate, and you can't cut employee costs for business as long as business is on the hook for health insurance premiums.

This is all part and parcel with the Democratic party's solutions to a "changing workplace." You've all heard it, "No more lifetime tenure in a job," means that you have to have a way to carry all of those fringe benefits with you from job to job.

It's the animating principle around the shift to 401ks.

It's turing into a failed experiment with retirement funds and I don't have much faith that insurance reform will reduce costs in the way that administration has projected.

But that's just my two cents!

I listen to wingnut radio so you don't have to!
