  •  Exactly, glorificus! No documentation was my (10+ / 0-)

first horrific thought.  Akin to having the medical staff at the hospital punching in numbers pre & post shift.  Something no consumer would stand for or not view with suspicion.

And before anyone thinks there is no comparision to home care service providers & medical staff, think again about the global duties a home provider may have  & which varies with each client.

About 6 years or so ago, I became aware of a now growing trend in my state re outsourcing in this particular arena.

After my initial outraged personal involvement with a particular fubar that impacted hundreds of families across the state, I have been watching from afar with great interest.

Seems to me that the newest wagon to hitch a star to is in any area of the so called community service providers.

Very disquieting to me to realize that under the radar of most of my fellow humans (who will someday be consumers) there are companies that suddenly appear or are forming to take over duties that the state used to provide.

Via outsourcing.  Beit actual client services or billing or redeterminations for services.

It is disquieting to me on many levels-especially in regards the money making aspect.  IMHO, there really needs to be consumer watchdogs from day one as these companies expand and/or take over.

Otherwise it becomes the whole insurance company racket et al writ large.  If it hasn't happened already.

Think about the sheer numbers in the pipeline that will need services.   Aside from the mental health, MR, drug populations requiring services there's a whole bunch of us boomers....

All seen by some as nothing but $$$$$$$$$.

      many and growing.
Human husbandry is the exploitation of humans by their own kind to their detriment.

but your comment reminded me of something I forgot to mention in the diary.

      This is,
      in fact,
      an example of outsourcing;
      the company receiving the calls
and sending the info to the state
      is,
      in fact,
      an outside contractor,
      a contractor that already serves
      a few other states.

      Imagine a Republican Governor,
      approached by a salesman,
pitching the idea of a private company
      providing this service,
      imagine the Republican Governor,
      filled with the unshakeable belief,
      the Republican belief,
      that private business
      ALWAYS
      does
      EVERYTHING
      better,
      more efficiently,
      than government.

      Always.

      Of course,
      such a Governor
      will use tax dollars,
      "tax and spend,"
      to pay a private firm
      to fleece the taxpayers.

I forgot to put that in the diary.

      And I was busy entertaining
      an old friend,
      who came to visit me
      from out of town,
      I was busy with her
      when the diary was "hot."

Thanks for including the outsourcing topic.

      Thanks again.
