  •  I heartily defend Jimmy Carter's (5+ / 0-)

model of Christianity because he had the brains and insight to attempt to apply the tenets of the ministry of Jesus to his day-to-day life.  He used his post-presidency celebrity to serve others.

The Christianity Rick Santorum and Michelle Bachmann reference doesn't sound like that at all.

The vacuousness of the Christian Right was shown in their none support of a true Christian who walks the walk.

Carter is a Southern Baptist, deacon, regular church goer, Sunday School teacher, winner of Nobel Peace Prize, doer of good works world wide.

The Southern white "Christians" vilified Carter, my brother still hates him.

Carter's cabinet, but I was appalled when U.S. voters picked the idiot Reagan over Carter.

They tossed a very good and decent man out of office in favor of an almost total imbecile.

And unfortunately Reagan was an imbecile surrounded by Machiavellian advisors and sinister errand boys.

Dumping Carter and getting Oliver North and Frank Carlucci was not a good deal for the country.
