  •  Just heard a few hospice stories ... (3+ / 0-)

... at a prayer meeting.  The stories were all moving, some were even quite funny, and they were told from the perspective of both care-giver and care-givee's family members.

One woman's mother is about to go into hospice, something nobody knew when the conversation went down this particular path, and she was deeply grateful to hear about hospice from these perspectives.

Thinking about Ed, as we grow older it becomes more and more likely that one will outlive one's partner.  When my first husband died at 29 the bereavement support groups in my area had nothing to offer a childless widow of 24, so I have no experience with the benefits of belonging to such a group.

But I'm sure there are many, and your diary underscored some important to Ed and others.  Thank you for sharing your evening with Ed here.

and death in our lives. I've been spared and am grateful. Not many things have challenged me in deeply painful ways the way many others have experienced. I agree that as we grow the chances increase we will face those things. You faced it early.

      Thank you for your comments.

      Well...I'd rather live in Utopia.
