  •  My father experienced TBI at the age of (8+ / 0-) gutters on the house, fell into the driveway.  Long and sad story.

    One of his many issues after working through his coma and ongoing seizures was aphasia.  He talked very conversationaly, knew he was making his points and his wishes known, but it was gibberish to the rest of us. His, and our, frustration was profound.

    Traumatic Brain Injury is a world unto itself and the fact that Gabriel Gifford has been able to reach the level of vocal communication that she has is beyond remarkable.  It's close to a miracle.
