    Again, he was not booing or yelling "NO!" He seemed surprised and pleased (and maybe a touch lubricated).

    FWIW, other "interesting" reactions to things the president said came from Rep. Hansen Clarke of Michigan, who began clapping wildly when the president mentioned his support of the auto industry in Detroit until one of his colleagues (whom I didn't recognize) leaned over and nudged him to wait for the president to finish his sentence; and Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, whom I saw mutter something to Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine that looked a lot like the word "bullshit" when the president mentioned the Pentagon's commitment to green energy.

      He can't help it.  Nothing to be done.

      WV is under that industry's foot, and although the people of WV are standing up to it in many cases, it will take a long time before that percolates up to their Senators.
