  •  Not only that, but the tribes (11+ / 0-)

have limited resources when confronted by the mega-billion mining industry.  I can only hope they can manage a speedy injunction from a court if this horrific mining bill becomes law.

The Rethugicans are ramming it through at warp speed.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

    •  Perhaps they need to make contact with this site. (4+ / 0-)

There may be some additional resources here they hadn't anticipated.

    •  The tribes have casinos (1+ / 0-)

so their resources aren't as limited as they were in the past.  They have also spent the last couple decades forming alliances with resort owners, sports fishermen, hunters and engaging in educational programs in local schools.  It will be much harder to whip up the racist hysteria of the spear fishing wars.  Locals now understand that the tribes are the ones stocking the lakes with fish and monitoring water quality.

      •  Most of the tribes are poor (0+ / 0-)

Only the ones in tourist areas have casinos and only 2 tribes have major operations.

The tribes have a great case, but massive lawyers hired by the mining industry will delay and delay and delay.
