  •  Conservative crankiness (6+ / 0-)

nastiness, hatefulness and cruelty are a chronic disease.   Those of us who live in red states know how mean, petty, selfish and judgmental conservatives are.  They are also self-righteous and many are religious fanatics.  In Texas we called them the Texas Taliban.

Here is a typical comment from a conservative Obama basher on the Houston Chronicle in an article related to the RNC chair and his comparison of Obama with the Italian captain who wrecked and abandoned his ship.

The analogy was too kind if you ask me. Obama and his regime are Nazis and America is in the boxcar to Auschwitz is more suitable.

Nice huh?  He sounds like a really happy and informed guy.

The right wing conservatives passed a sonogram bill in which women seeking abortions must have a sonogram.   They are supposed to look at the screen and listen the fetus's heartbeat.   The doctor is required to do the same.   A woman's only recourse is to close her eyes and clap her hands over her ears.

The woman has to wait 24 hours before she can have the abortion.  This cruelty comes from a party that likes to wear  freedom on its sleeve.   I guess that would be freedom according to conservatives.

....have to hold big crawly spiders in their hands before they can apply.

      Just watch and see.

As for why all these righties get off on other peoples' pain, its because they're suffering from chronic orgasm deficiency.  For real.  Or if they have an apparently healthy quantity of 'em, the quality is so lacking that they're still deficient.

        A world of secret hungers
Perverting the men who make your laws
        Every desire is hidden away
In a drawer in a desk by a Naugahyde chair
On a rug where they walk and drool
Past the girls in the office

        We see in the back
        Of the City Hall mind
The dream of a girl about thirteen
Off with her clothes and into a bed
        Where she tickles his fancy
        All night long

.... the 80s.  His closing comment was that the one thing he felt was most dangerous to society, was exposing violent prisoners to extreme right-wing fundamentalist religion behind bars, because the result of that, once they got out, was a large number of extremely violent people running around all full of themselves and full of the Lord.

Right on the bull's eye with that one.

...is to insist that anything legislators insist welfare recipients do in order to receive benefits, legislators also have to do to continue in office or be put on the ballot.

You have just come up with the key to the kingdom on this one.

Introduce this in Congress and make it federal so it applies to all states.

Call it The "Do Unto the Least of These" Act of 2012.  The title taken from another one of that radical Rabbi's famous rants:  "Whatever you neglected to do unto one of the least of these, you neglected to do unto me!"

As you said, and tightening up the wording just a little:  "Anything that legislators require the recipients of any form of public assistance do in order to receive benefits, legislators also have to do to continue in office or be put on the ballot."

The debate on that would, in and of itself, make it worthwhile.

Yes, and watch all the False Believers scurry around looking for excuses to vote No on the bill.  The "Christians without Jesus."  Mammon-worshipers all of them.  It's about time to put them to the test and see what they really believe.

          •  It isn't just the "Say Sweet Jesus and .... (0+ / 0-)

all will be well" people that are a  problem here. (You know, "We have guns in schools because we don't have prayer." ignoring the twenty-year efforts of gun libertarians who "love Jesus".)

We also have the extortionists: "Legislators have to have higher and higher pay to keep them from being corrupt."  You have to provide tax "incentives" for the wealthy but must cut programs for the poor in order to do that because that money "incentivizes them to be lazy".

And in Alabama you have both in one package.  You have to have low teacher pay to make sure they don't become corrupt, incompents.  You have to have high legislative pay to make sure they don't becom corrupt incompetents.  The Bible says so, without reference to chapter or verse.
