  •  No code changes (yet) this week (7+ / 0-)

But sometimes the partners and plugins change on us.

I'm currently cranky about ShareThis breaking the back button for IE8.

Fry, don't be a hero! It's not covered by our health plan!

at work?  I was wondering about that.  Very annoying.  I just expect it to "go back" when I tell it to - and then it doesn't and I have to start over...ugh!

So this is a DK thing that is affecting how things work in IE8?  Seemed better this afternoon/early evening.

control whatsoever over the tools that people use to access the web site.

Browsers are "someone else's software" and they are constantly changing (as are all their add-ins and hangers-on). Each new bug fix can easily fix a bug that you were relying on in your coding. For that reason, web site development is one of the most difficult types of development. When you are developing normal database projects, you give your user a single tool to open and navigate. With web development, you write your code, test it on a few generic browsers and hope like heck that is works for the other gajillion subsets of browsers/ISPs/operating systems/OS patches/IQ out there.

      I salute you, elfling.
