    "deserves" that benefit, because SS isn't a welfare program--it's a social insurance policy paid for by We The People for our own benefit and protection when we are no longer able to work.

    That is irrespective of his immense wealth otherwise.

      Social Security and Medicare works and survives because it treats everyone the same.

      As soon as you take it away from one rich person it becomes welfare and then they will eliminate "welfare as we know it".

      collecting social security because she felt at 80 she has collected more than she had put in, more than she was "entititled" to.  Bullshit, I said, you invested into a system, you paid into a system that invested the money and now you have earned the right to receive that money.  It is not an entitlement.  She got quiet and said she'd never thought of it that way.  She votes republican, and I just shake my head sometimes.
