    to do good. An idea I've had is that what the U.S. needs is a truly progressive news media establishment. I don't think there's is much sense in taking on the big conglomerates in the big cities (yet). But community newspapers are a different matter. I get around the east coast and midwest each summer, and I have to tell you, it just drives me nuts to see conservatives dominating the op-ed pages and the news coverage in newspapers in almost every town and small city I visit. I think we need someone with the resources (like you) to step up and buy one or two local papers and put them in the hands of some really progressive editors.

    Furthermore, I think local newspapers have a greater financial stability than than the big city papers do, and it might even be possible to use the profits to start building a chain of progressive newspapers.

    A conservative is a scab for the oligarchy.
