  •  Letting Gov Jerry Brown Off-The-Hook? (13+ / 0-)

When the Public Option was killed by 5 conservaDems in the U.S. Senate, many on the left blamed Obama for not fighting hard enough for it. It was as if Obama had actually vetoed the PO.

So why are people not doing the same to Gov Brown? Why didn't Gov Brown fight harder, twist arms, use the bully pulpit, to get those CA Dem Senators to vote for single-payer?

    No double-standard here, for sure...

I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Republican Party.

    •  the time for twisting brown's arm is coming (4+ / 0-)

first we need to get it through the senate.

    •  he's been incredibly lame on this issue (0+ / 0-)

      as well, no doubt.

When running for governor if he gave a shit about the 12 million Californians who go without insurance for at least part of the year, he would have emphasized that the asshole who last occupied the governors mansion vetoed the single payer bill, thereby sentencing to needless deaths thousands of Californians who had curable/treatable illnesses but lacked proper health insurance (at least until it was too late).

The gubernatorial campaigns uttered not one f-cking peep about the bill that arguably would have the most impact of anything passed by the Legislature since funding the state's public universities, or maybe the water projects.

PHRMA and others as well as the various public statements in which Obama personally scuttled any Public Option and repeatedly indicated it was a "nice to have" but not something he was really interested in getting probably is why Obama gets blamed for scuttling the Public Option.

But, you know, don't let facts interfere with your narrative.
