    Last year's ad I found more powerful, but perhaps that's being a Rust Belt child -- the images of Detroit had me crying last year, and this one was more about America than about Detroit.

    I didn't catch the halftime/re-election parallel, but I like it.

    And yes, it was about selling cars. But selling cars by selling what has been and can be again great about America is better than selling cars with scantily clad women or talking animals or whatever else would probably have worked just as well from a financial standpoint. A politically-tinged ad is risky, and I'm glad they took that risk for the second year in a row.
