  •  No. Washingtonians can handle this. (23+ / 0-)

WBC planned to protest at Elizabeth Edwards' funeral. And people from all across America started to announce they would be there to shield the family -- including many who said they are Relublicans (and what Republican doesnt despise John Edwards?)

Before the funeral, WBC pulled out. I guess they had a scheduling conflict. They must have had an important meeting with Satan... Or something.

The larger the show of force, the more peaceful people will be. The Cox family has been told our community stands with them. It's time to show them, the world --and all the haters-- that we mean it.

OWS can help organize this. But there will be hundreds, even thousands,  of just regular folks showing up because it's the decent thing to do.

I have zero doubts about my fellow and sister citizens. Not with this.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.

      •  And the update posted a little while ago shows (0+ / 0-)

That once again, WBC backed down upon hearing that there would be hundreds of decent people there to mute their hatred.

Bullies are cowards. We need to stand up to them. If we do this often enough (although, God willing, we hopefully will have fewer funerals to attract them), they might just crawl back in their holes forever.
