The Republican motto: "There's been a lot of progress in this country over the last 75 years, and we've been against all of it."

        Barack Obama. Surprise!

        And his UID# is 66948.

WOW, that UID impresses me even though mine is lower because it means our President saw the future of electoral politics and jumped in early on  :)

Is the wonderful Black History month tape really from  1991???  If I had seen that video back then I think I might have thought THAT MAN is someday going to be President :)

Barack Obama is NOT the Progressive President I wish he was but I never had any illusions that he was a liberal when I voted for him.   I knew he was less to the left than I am BUT I also knew he would make an intelligent President and a wonderful representative for America on the WORLD STAGE and heaven knows we needed to repair our world stage image after BUSH convinced the rest of the world that America had gone crazy.

I had hoped we would be further along then we are BUT I have never seen this level of entrenched obstruction before and I am amazed we even got here... and by HERE I mean that Obama ushered in a political atmosphere by which WE were able to move the country forward (albeit slower then we wished to) despite the right trying, with all their might muscle and money, to hold it back.

I put hopes onto Obama's presidency that were not realized but I know those hopes were mine, not his :)  I am going to do that again...  I am going to HOPE that in his second term he does move more to the left because his time in office will be limited and his need to stay re-electable will be gone.

Maybe he will move left, maybe not BUT given the options before us President OBAMA is still the most intelligent man running and the only one who will keep America looking Sane on the world stage... and given the rumblings of war with Iran now coming from the right WE cannot risk not re-electing Obama.  imho  :)
