If I believe abortion is murder, and you tell me I'm anti-sex, I'm going to think you're nuts.

This framing is not helpful. It may be true in many cases, but it is not helpful.

It's not 11th dimensional chess; it's just chess. And he's KICKING YOUR ASS.

if  it is "true in many cases."

I've known exactly one person in my life who honestly viewed abortion as murder.  The rest better fit my frame.  If you are an exception, I'm sorry for you.

If the pro-life crowd really believed it was murder, they would step up and take care of these children they so desperately want to be born.  They would fund adoption and foster care, SCHIP,  and reinstate AFDC.  They would ensure that these children had security and stability and love.  That they are healthy and educated and able to stand on their own as adults.

If the pro-lifers aren't really anti-sex, they would stand on street corners and pass out condoms to anyone who would accept them to prevent even one more unwanted pregnancy.  They would support free contraception, and stop attacking Planned Parenthood.

But they don't.  They cut all funding for any kind of support, they ostracize the mother, and they throw the kid away.  They refuse to prepare teens to deal with human sexuality and they terrorize them with abstinence only education and the very real threat of being shunned if they don't obey.  Sex is a fundamental human drive.  It will happen.  Refusing to deal with it, and punishing people for engaging in it, won't make it go away.

And the child?  Growing up in a world that does not want you, with people who cannot, or will not, take care of you, creates myriad additional problems.

If people really believe that abortion is murder, then they need to step up and make sure that every child born has what they need to thrive.  When that happens, I'll respect your framing, even if I don't personally agree with it.
